The study of physics develops the ability for problem solving,logical thinking,intellectual thinking.. While studying organic and inorganic chemistry pressurise our mind to think more and help making more neural connections in our brain..... Overall these subjects develop critical thinking skills in us that's and also learning these tough subjects make one more hardworking and disciplined..... Just do a piece of research and go through the start-up culture of IIT's The reason of unemployment of engineers is that they didn't worked on their skills or just enjoyed college life instead of being neutral in studies and enjoyment and I only agree with you the point of curriculum. All these words are on the behalf of my father who is Professor in IIT MANDI. I dont know about other colleges, but in top institutions, course curriculum till 2nd year is pretty much same. Only the content of 3rd and 4th year are updated and revised on an yearly basis. New subjects are taught based on the trend.
