Hello to you, my friend! I will answer your question of what is my restaurant marker: Of course the food has to be good (to me), but after that it is consistency 100%. Nothing will stop me from returning to a restaurant faster than the fact that they are not consistent. We have never tried Toppers, but there is one by where we grocery shop so that is on our list to try. Thank you for that. I'm also so happy to always hear how good you treat your mom (never thought you didn't as you are so kind and caring). I live with my adult daughter who is also very good to me. I love the 'Atticus Eats' series! We had a Big Boy in my hometown. It turned into another eatery and then finally a Blockbuster video store. Those are some nifty door handles. I must say, that pizza looks ... flavorful. I think the Ranch makes a difference too. For instance, I like Culver's Ranch better than Burger King's and Chick-Fil-A's even better than Culver's, but recently had a crispy chicken sandwich from BK with something called Royal sauce on it and loved it! It's basically a garlic, parmesan ranch. I like it a little thicker too, not runny. I'm not sure what my marker for a good restaurant would be. I would say what their coffee is like, but I don't recall a "good" coffee from any restaurant. Perhaps I'd say if they offer breakfast food (and not just in the morning). Pizza is tops though. My favorite type is thin crust, extra cheese (if necessary) and pepperoni. Sometimes I like onions, black olives and green peppers as well. However, my favorite pizza from my favorite pizzeria would be their cheese and sausage. I also like dipping it if there's dipping sauces available and am good with ranch, or garlic butter.

I also wanna point out that I think it's clever that you speed up certain parts when you eat so that we don't just have to sit and watch you eat and get bored! As far as a marker in a restaurant goes, I would have to say a certain dish has to be good. You already know that you and Alexis convinced me that pineapple should go on Pizza lol My favorite toppings on pizza would have to be bacon, sausage, pepperoni, BBQ chicken, pineapple and peppers. Also I think pizza is perfect when it's classic.

Toppers Pizza! 😭 My husband and I moved from Ventura CA to Tennessee two years ago, and Toppers is one of the restaurants we miss most. That and Presto Pasta. Thank you for sharing this, Atticus! Brings back good memories. I could almost taste it. 😋

What's important to me about deciding whether a restaurant is good is when obviously the food tastes good, it's nice when there is good customer service but I find that hard to come by and if the place looks nice and clean that's a plus aswell. I'm quite plain when it comes to pizza, I love the classic cheese and tomato :)

Well I'm a traditional combination style thin crust pizza guy. I like pepperoni, ham, dry salami, peppers, onions, olives. I like pineapple, but I'm afraid at certain places they would put it on to wet and it might ruin the Crispness of the crust. Kind of like when some restaurants put an unripe slice of tomato on your burger and it makes it soggy and it doesn't taste good , that's what I think about pineapple they could put a really sour one on there , and it's not dry enough, therefore , ruining my pizza crust. I've never ate Toppers Pizza before, must only a California thing. But the fact that the door handles are pizza is so clever! Definitely gonna need to try it if I'm in the California area since I don't live far from there. Also Atticus I legit was gonna ask u about pineapples on pizza in this comment. Also pizza with ranch is superb! What I've done with pizza is I take the cheese off after eating the toppings and then eat that cheese and put ranch on the crust and eat it like that! What can I say? I'm neurodivergent 😆 The thing for me that makes a restaurant good is really anything! If they have anything I like that's fine with me. I'm always willing to try new things and I'm bound to love it/have it a second time. I remember shortly after meeting my stepmom (who was from Kenya and dating my dad at the time) I tried some Kenyan food I had never tried before and so I tried some meat that I didn't recognize, I liked it and I was shocked to find out it was goat! It was super chewy but good too, the flavors of goat are so complex lol. Been to Giordano's in Chicago. Oddly the best deep dish Chicago pizzas I've ever had were at the Giordano's in Las Vegas and Big Al's in downtown Manhattan. 45 minutes cooked to order but with the big window view of Bellagio's fountains it is a great place to hang.

Ranch & Crust for pizza is what I look for, I've only tolerated pineapple on pizza, but I'll eat it if it's offered, not big on the cooked pineapple with cheese But others are free to love it. My favorite toppings are pepperoni mushrooms and olives

For me... if it's a Mexican restaurant and they have Horchata (a cinnamon rice milk drink) I have to test it. If it's chalky on the bottom then I'm disappointed a little bit. At max it'll be 8 out of 10. It's like someone getting their favorite drink at Starbucks and it's to sugary or not mixed well.

@@thesure1 Have you ever heard "pesto"? the classic pesto is a sauce made with basil, parmesan, oil and pine nuts. Pistachio pesto is made with pistachio and oil. In this pizza replace the classic tomato sauce.

yesssss i loooove Pineapple on Pizza ohhh i miss it ever so much no one here where i live even believes that existed not even the now closing domino's pizza here where i live oh i agree with you Atticus if it is made right and pure good it is my fave kind of pizza too cooked to perfection the flavor is pure Umami, and house made Ranch is a big key to Umami for pizza your are a true American hero Atticus i salute you sir this is a masterpiece, sweet and spicy thats my fave flavor profile too, my marker for a good place to go too would be their Fish as one for me i love fish especially Salmon and true cod and if they can make it in a batter like my mom did that's a super marker for me for pizza nice n thick with good marinara sauce and ranch also, but if they make it good and with care also no animals in the establishment and hair nets for me too gloves and a hair net always for me most places up here are so dirty i stay away from most of them, and mask too always be extra safe and careful i remembered from my food handler's permit course i got a A+, AMEN ATTICUS i fully agree with you on that, the packet of Soy Sauce under the passenger seat will petrify no worries unless you heaar Gollum under there tell him the guy parked next to you took your precious hehehehe, yes pineapple belongs on the pizza the sweet add to the marinara sauce overall flavor and adds to the toppings too it just tastes so good and i love deep dish too it holds a lot of everything especially the meats n cheese and pineapple and some Jalapeño too, it just tastes so heavenly, true heavenly blessings im always so grateful for good food of so many kinds all kinds just so wonderful.
