PACHA SAMBAR RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1.Tuvar dal 1 cup
2.Turmeric powder 1/4 + ¼ tsp.
VEGETABLES
3.Shallots(skinned) 1 cup
4.Potatoe(cubed) 1 cup
5.Tomatoe(cubed) 1 cup
6.Papaya(cubed) 1 cup
7.Pumpkin(cubed) 1 cup
8.Brinjal(cubed) 1 cup
9.Green chilli 6 - 8
10.Salt to taste
11.Tamarind soaked gooseberry size
MASALA
12.Red chilli 6 - 10
13.Coriander seeds 3 tbsp
14.Fenugreek 8 - 10 nos
15.Grated coconut 3 - 4tbsp
16.Asofoetida cube 1”cube
SEASONING
17.Oil 2tbsp
18.Red chilli 3- 4
19.Mustard seeds 1tsp
20.Fenugreek seeds 10 - 15
21.Shallot round 5 shallots
22. Curry leaves plenty
GARNISH
23.Corriander leaves(chopped) plenty
PREPARATION
1. Boil tuvar dal with a little turmeric powder. Set aside
2. Boil the ingredients 3 to 10,with a little turmeric powder till well done,boil with the tamarind juice,boil well.
3. Grind the items for masala in asafoetida soaked half cup water, set aside.
4. Mix with set aside boiled dal,adding the ground masala, adding enough water(5-6mnts)
5. Season with the ingredients, add to the sambar, garnish with coriander leaves , ghee and curry leaves.
