Roger Fortsman was killed for an assumption from the female who wasn’t sure why the officer was called there for. Why didn’t the officer confirm with her for her reason for calling? He should have just said “call me when you have your reason or story straight”and left. At the end of all of this, the deputy didn’t take care of her issue. Why didn’t she try to address this problem herself? Whatever reason she called for, it wasn’t for Roger’s apartment. Very sad 😢. RIP Roger Fortsman.

Let’s just say for clarity he didn’t know it was a cop at his door and all he heard was banging on his door, he looks out and nobody is there. Then banging again. He goes to grab his firearm, checks the peephole again and doesn’t see anyone. Opens the door and it’s a cop. What do you do in that scenario? I try to see both sides of these altercations. Just because it was announced doesn’t mean it was heard is what I’m saying. He was on the phone, his dog was barking in the background as well. We won’t know the full story since he’s no longer here, but he was a service member and a licensed firearm owner. In his mind he could have done everything he should have given the information he had. If he in fact didn’t know it was an officer at the door, what does he do when he opens the door and notices it’s the police? He was shot 6 times in less that a second after he opened the door.

Apparently he was on a FaceTime call with his girlfriend and his dog was barking in the background. This coupled with the fact the cop was hiding from the peephole on several occasions could make it highly plausible that he didn’t know it was the police. Once he opened the door and noticed it was a cop he put his other hand up in a defensive manner like (woah woah woah) and complied with the command of step back. Then he gets lit up. Unfortunate circumstances all around to be honest. You’re a military service member who has a license to carry, you’re at home alone, I highly doubt you answer the door with a gun in hand if you know it’s the police. The girl said twice she didn’t know where it was then says a room number of which only one person lives at. Also it’s weird that she says she walks past this room all the time, yet his apartment was at the very end on the fourth floor. How do you walk past an apartment that’s at the end? I think she wasn’t sure where it was and she didn’t want to sound stupid and just gave a number

the policeman knocked on the door and stepped away from door view. than he knocked again and said Sheriff depart open the door and stepped away again. the policeman knocks again and says sheriff department open the door. this time the victim opens door . his gun is pointing down on his right hand. but his holster is on the left side. the victims left hand is up like saying what's going on , how can i help you. the deputy shoots 6 times killing the victim, when victim is down and dyeing, the deputy says drop the weapon. but if its a domestic disturbance the officer must take in consideration of other and any victims present there. in other words the deputy opened fired killing victim and anybody else that would be present there. the deputy wrongfully killed the victim , he is wrong fire and prosecute him. also there was no disturbance there so she , him got and went to wrong apartment.

This whole thing is messy because the sheriff got 2nd hand intel. Goes to the apartment kills the service member. Realizes after the fact that the intel he was given was bad but from the police stand point he did go to the right apartment. Based on what the leasing manager provided with her nosey behind that blood is on her hand as well because she called and put a battery in his back now his career is messed up but he went to the apartment trying to save the Dansel in distress because the picture that was painted is there a woman getting slapped up. So all this is in the subconscious he shows up gun pointed down opening the door. This whole thing is a mess…the city goan pay out but technically they’re not wrong about the apartment because the woman that called jacked it up. I only break it down because I served in the US Army I was in the infantry and we would get briefed on what to expect out on patrol and sometimes we get crazy intel but afghan households were allowed to have an AK-47 so we had to have positive identification if we were shot at it didn’t give us the right to shoot just because it was near or they were holding it. Police officers need more training why is it that it takes 1600 hours in some states to get a barber license then it does to become a police officer. It’s a job no one really wants to do but if you jumpy and afraid to die for 32,000 a year then don’t do it.
