Specifically he didn't distinguish between dollars his users said he could gamble with and the dollars he couldn't; all the money and assets people put into FTX went into one pile, and they kept track of how much everyone could take out of it. But then FTX kept supporting one gamble, Alameda, without tracking how risky it was. When the gamble failed, there was a run on the pile and the people who made the kind of account that FTX wasn't allowed to gamble with found that FTX didn't actually have their money anymore. Why? because they never coded a second pile of "do not gamble" money.

Sadly, the rewards for corporate crime generally outweigh the risks under current corporate law. This guy is rare, in that he will likely spend some years in jail. Blaming a 'run on the bank' for FTX's collapse shows a lack of understanding of what happened here - FTX was not a bank. From what I understand, FTX spend more money than they earned and was not profitable - it used customer- and investments funds as revenue.

The fatal blow was the collapse of their self-created coin - FTT I think it was called. They basically used it to balance their books so when it collapsed (likely because the Binance guy offloaded the hundreds of millions in FTT that Bankman-Fried paid him to buy him out), FTX's liquidity evaporated.

Are y'all bots, blind or willfully ignorant? Garlands dereliction of duty is not only stunning and appalling, but it is also blatantly obvious by his conduct. I held out hope 60 minutes would at least tell a little truth, but they like all corporate/state media are irredeemable just like most liberals that allow their emotions and personal feelings to cloud their judgement, logic and reason. It will literally take the collapse of this nation to wake you all up from your slumber. Then again it will probably get blamed on conservatives, or the former president.

Investigations while there's an election going on is great for the American people. Candidates have less time to butter you up and need to get straight to the entree.

So....... what you're saying is $8 billion, minus trading fees and Crypto losses, is not missing or gone, it was parked in Alameda? If that is true, why did FTX not cover withdrawals?

I like AG Garland; he is in a tough spot with the polarization of the left and the right. But, what's interesting is someone having an emotional connection to someone they never met. The personal stories he has heard from family members correlate with the scapegoating, name-calling, and parties trying to seize power and prosecute the opposite in today's American political landscape?.

You can practice any and all beliefs, as long as when you put it into practice, it doesn't overlap with the rights of another citizen. You don't have the right to violate someone else's rights. If your beliefs cross the barrier of another persons rights, then you don't have that right. It goes the other way as well, people don't have that right over you, you should be grateful and more optimistic about it. You can still believe in anything you want, no one is stopping anyone, you're using vague and spooky language to try to scare people into not believing in the free world, I suspect you are a bot from an autocratic country.
