I have to agree. Perilous plunge had the strongest butterflies in your stomach feeling, even stronger than xcelerator. Like I legit felt my stomach fall out on the way down

The Angry Fireball Can you get whiplash on Plunge? The posters above seem to believe Plunge is actually “scarier” not more intense. Intensity has nothing to do with fear or anticipation.

​@@scottyjbd This ride had all the coasters there beat in terms of sheer intensity, nothing topped that free-fall feeling in your stomach throughout the drop, not even Xcelerator's launch. I know because me and my friends were fortunate enough to have season passes throughout our childhood/teen years so we rode everything numerous times, one time we got on Perilous Plunge 5 times in a row near closing time

i remember seeing this thing the first time i went to knotts and i thought to myself "that shit looks unsafe as fuck". and look what happened. the oververt on the drop is insane.

Rest in peace the only ride at knotts that could truly cool you off in the summer. They replaced it with kiddy rides and a boring coaster pretty much. I loved this thing :/

I went on this twice! So fun! the first time i closed my eyes and the second i didn't. the drop isn't as scary as the ride up to the drop because you get yourself psyched up. if you go on this ride BRING A CHANGE OF CLOTHES! especially if you sit towards the back! you get DRENCHED!!!!

They took out Perilous Plunge and are adding in 3 other rides. On some videos I watched, I saw that some sort of water rocket that made the big splash at the end and I guess the boat didn't really make that big of a splash at all. I am bummed that they took it out.

Well the press release said attraction but it's looking like attractions now. Too bad, Knott's could have used a major thrill like Leviathan that was supposed to go to knott's instead of Canada's Wonderland. As for why, Perilous plunge was plagued with issues and did not have a good reputation due to the death...

@Taylor5192 I stand in line for the front oe at disneyland you have to ask for the front so they know then they put you off to the side til the next front seat is available or they just let you go up there. But if your at disneyland or disneyworld and you don't tell them you want the front they won't know and they will just put you where ever. You got to let them know.

Oh gosh, it went faster when I went on it last Friday I was thinking 'This ride doesn't go so fast...' and when it went down I instantly flew up in my seat O.O But highly recommend it and it is really fun! And you get drenched! :D

I’m okay with them getting rid of this ride, but the rides that replaced it kinda suck. All for kids, like we already have camp snoopy and other spinning rides. I like the idea of Coast Rider, but while riding, it does feel like that first drop is good then just goes downhill from there.

It was removed due to high maintenance costs. Knott's found it was cheaper to remove this ride and build a new one that to keep this one. While Perilous Plunge was fun, it never operated the way it was intended to ( it was supposed to be a high capacity ride) but never operated with more than two boats. I remember the ride's opening was delayed for 3-4 months because of issues that never were fully resolved.
