Can you test if those sleeves boost actually work cause that's the only time I question the attributes, for example if I have 75 block and I use two sleeves to move it 77 I never see the difference

but the thing is badges have pretty much the same impact. One example is the speed booster badge. It's on the video at 1:39

@@nba2ktutes yes, but a lot of badges unlock animations… I never make my builds have bad stats, but I typically just try to get the badges I want and the animation thresholds, figure stick skill will make up for the rest

This is how to get the most out of the builder. If you have any points that could be reduced and NOT lose any badges, then that means they are wasted points that could be used elsewhere..

A 89 steal will give u a swiping animation on a reach …make it 90 and u unlock a poking animation…less fouls more steals and bumps …fruit for thought

I think the user should be reward for pressing the steal button at the right time... but the game focuses more on the stat itself and ppl spam steal and get fewer foul calls or no foul calls and it's not even like they be having you boxed, it's just how the game is made...

I'm of the mindset that regardless of the attributes every min and max should have a significant difference. Empower the player to feel like they have a max attribute in a category. 99 block should make you like you can block anything if you are in the right position or and time it correctly.

Yeah this had been the biggest thing. I have a 98 layup and i had to resort to shooting for most games i won against people since i kept getting blocked or a small green window. And at that point its like why am i able to go 98 layup if it feels like 91 or 90.

@@Swish.s4u gotta be doing it wrong or something if mastered layups meaning scoop , float , spin, euro, hop , reverse, acrobatic and regular layups ur unstoppable shit u can 40 all floaters it’s easy especially with dbook package it’s jus about taking good drives to the rim there so many ways to score with layups jus having 80 layup u get most of the finishing badges gold that enough

I used to have a 91 and it felt the same in terms of what kind of layups ill be able to pull off against certain shot blockers and thats not good. Im having a much better time now but its because im limiting myself with certain layups and at a 98 i should be able to pull off every layup for every situation

Badges have always mattered more ever since they’ve introduced it to the franchise. Some games in years past, if you didn’t have any, you would have a great disadvantage than those that do. And now it’s gotten to the point that with certain badges, you can get away with bronze level badges to save you points on your build. So, attributes are only good for your badges & again, badges are everything.

I just don’t like how there’s such hard saturation points but then the builder will charge so much in overall for things that don’t make that much of a difference. An example of that is 3pt. A 94 vs a 99 3 isn’t that big of a difference (even accounting for gold vs hof badges) and it’ll be like 10 overall for just 5 3 pointer. Builds end up still being op once we find out all the best saturation points then just stick with it. I just personally wished it was more linear from 25-99

I hate how they charge you more vc for the same stats the higher your overall is. Like going from 60 strength to 65 may be 7k when you are 70 ovr but if you’re 75 ovr going from 60 strength to 65 will be like 10k. Such an egregious game

Yeaa honestly they don’t matter 😭 I have a 96 pass center and people still fumble my passes on fast breaks with break starter hof.. i also have a 96 perimeter 6’7 and still get greened heavily on randomly. Game is very rng. I beat a mvp post scorer too with my 25 interior on 1s court with his finishing take so 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ 2k needs to make high attributes matter again like 2k20 days

Fumbling passes is based on their ball handling. When I make outlet passes to my pg, he always catches it. anyone else its a crap shoot.

Defense stat values are WAYYY more nerfed compared to the other 3 categories. How does it make sense for a 45 standing dunk to activate like its an elite rating, but gold anchor on a Footer gives trash animations consistently like its a 45 rating ?

There are certain thresholds where you feel the difference. For example, 50interior defense to 60 is noticeable.

I don't know what's going on with my players some of my build get to a certain level or when my close shot or lay up is high the player will do layups instead of dunks under the rim and now some of my centers when I hold Lt won't box out. I don't know what's going on with the game I thought it was my controller but, I got a new and the same thing happening..

I said this 3 years ago, and no one listened. It's always been about animations and that's what has killed the game to me cause we pay more for the attributes than we do the animations. 2K needs to address this if I have a 90+ 3pt no matter what shot I use my green window should be larger than someone who has a 78 and using a KZbin given jump shot. like come on bruh make it make sense. 2K also needs to diss badges and boost cause they don't show us exactly how much of a boost we are getting from either of them so what's the point to me BADGES only tell people what you do best so that they can prepare for you.

How much it matters is really the Question, I have made many builds, but one thing I always do is have 87 block, and always a silver anchor and that’s unlocked on 72 interior D, if you crank that D to 80 it’s a very noticeable in comparison to 72.

I think it depends on the attribute. Some are pretty much useless outside of unlocking badges and animations. Others, every point seems to matter. I know maxing out something this seems to be more effective than last yr. Last yr there seemed to be a sweet spot for everything. If you passed it, it did nothing. Almost seemed to hurt your guy. This year, though, i can really tell if I spend a little extra on something. Like for dunk a 94 is really a good spot but my couple of builds I went to 96 is a very big difference. Same with my 3pt. I went to 96 and its crazy how much better it is compared to my other builds at 94. Hitting deep shots is where I seem to feel it the most.

My career shows you that attributes don’t matter. Hall of fame slithery and fearless finisher with 99 driving layup and still get super tiny green window driving in on Tyler herro(someone with no defensive badges and low interior defense). This has discouraged me from playing 2k as it seems they boiled the game down to one simple question, “how do we get them to spend more money and vc”. Zero thought went into the mechanics of the game

I think stats should be cost-effective in the game, when we still don't have tests and more tests on what would be the optimal points, we spend a lot of stat points for a small real gain in the game, or we spend a few points for a lot of gains, including animations that make the player change water for wine.

Sooo what's the explaination where I'm 6'9" and my direct opponent is 6'9" and we're both running without the ball, but I had a 3 meter headstart to the other end, and he catches me as I get to the corner as recieve the ball? The fastest you can be at 6'9" is 81 so even if we were the same speed, I have 81 speed and he caught up... at this point I just feel the game is scripted and rubbish.

There are a few points you made in this video that make me ask additional questions. First, speed booster badge: I don't know if this badge is firing off of a straight-line foot race w the ball. Are you certain it does? I was under the impression it activated in situations like drive or moving shot out of triple threat or a momentum dribble and made those animations complete faster. Second, should we be asking the question if the 25-99 stat range is too large for the stats in the game? I would argue for speed/accel, they are too large of a window for an NBA athlete. For things like shooting, dribbling and finishing where there is a certain amount of touch and skill IRL I feel this range is just fine. IMO your argument about the difference in the fastest and slowest shuttle times and sprints supports the speed/accel window being too large. I feel your way of comparing the speed in game with times recorded for players in the combine is a great idea. Maybe it can be done for strength and vertical as well? I would hope the devs are also comparing stats and recorded times/reps/jumps because it could lead to a more realistic physics environment. Great Video!

I make my builds to hit badges I want. I'm not going to go 90 blk when I get silver anchor at 87. Or 87 rebound when I get gold box out at 85. To me it's wasted attributes. I see so many builds that can be better but they went 1 or 2 over on an attribute instead of stopping at the badge requirement. Only attributes you may not hit a badge and get animations is ball handle and speed with ball. But even on that i go badges over animations.

All I know is I started making builds with just 40 speed with ball but still higher bh and I can cook. If you know how to get around a defender badges like blowby don’t matter. Also speed booster doesn’t feel like a big boost until you get to gold in my opinion.

Attributes do matter this year. But it’s to unlock animations and green windows. So that’s an automatic lie. If you can make something work with less animations or window of error then sure attributes don’t matter. But it is definitely harder. So they do matter. For example you need an 87 to precision dunk. So without it you ain’t doing shi. So they do matter and your window is based off of your attribute rating. Same thing with your make % ontop of the edge green window

I think slowing the 57 SWB player maybe 66% and boosting the 99 SWB by 33% or so going by that ratio. Overall I think the issue is the defense is weak in comparison the offense, I like how NBA Live made the defense drop the effectiveness of the offense rather than on cancelling the other out, I think positioning, stamina, stats and other things along with defense should be taken into account
