Shamsi has a good point at 5:30 tbh, based on ahadith, the sahabah themselves were very inquisitive (May Allah have mercy on them all) so if there was any confusion in the ma’ana of certain ayahs of the Quran, they would’ve definitely brought it up the Prophet(صلى الله عليه وسلم). Aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah in regards to the names and attributes of Allah (the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and his companions رضي الله عنهم اجمعين): -Affirm for Allah what he attributes to himself in the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah in a way that befits His majesty. In the following way: -Don’t resemble the attributes to anything as there is nothing like Allah. “There is nothing like Him: He is the All Hearing, the All Seeing.” (42:11) -Don’t Distort/change or specify about the attributes what Allah hasn’t. -Don’t ask how the attribute exactly is (as no one has ever seen Allah). -Don’t negate/reject the attributes of Allah. They made not a just estimate of Allah as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection, the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Exalted is He, free of all imperfections, High above all that they associate as partners with Him.’ (Surah Az-Zumar: 67) “And the Jews say, ‘The hand of Allah is tied up.’ Chained are their hands, and cursed are they for what they say. Rather, both His Hands are extended, He spends however He wills…” (Al-Mā’idah: 64) “[Allah] said, ‘O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?’” [Saad 38:75]. “(Remember) the Day when the Shin shall be laid bare (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and they shall be called to prostrate themselves (to Allâh), but they (hypocrites) shall not be able to do so.” (68:42) “And the Face of your Lord full of Majesty and Honour will abide forever.” (55:27) “And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye” (20:39) “Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!” (54:14) “Everything will perish except His Face.” (28:88) Side point: The Hadith About 2 Right Hands: "And both of His hands are right (يَمِينٌ) hands." Sunan an-Nasa'i 5379 The word يَمِينٌ/ يُمنا comes from the word, Blessed = تَيَمُّن, this Hadith is talking about how Allah’s hands are blessed. Simple. Salafi’s do not believe that the hands of Allah are organs at the end of the forelimb of certain vertebrates that exhibits great mobility and flexibility in the digits and in the whole organ. It is made up of the wrist joint, the carpal bones, the metacarpal bones, and the phalanges. Salafi’s don’t believe the shin of Allah mentioned in the Qur’an is the front part of the leg below the knee. Salafi’s don’t believe the eye which Allah mentions about himself in the Qur’an is made up of three coats, which enclose the optically clear aqueous humour, lens, and vitreous body. The outermost coat consists of the cornea and the sclera; the middle coat contains the main blood supply to the eye and consists, from the back forward, of the choroid, the ciliary body, and the iris. These are human attributes ^. Allah’s attributes are not like ours. They befit His majesty. "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." (112:4) “And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allâh, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names. They will be requited for what they used to do.” (7:180)

Muaaz akhi, I think you misunderstood the what the brother said. He’s correct for saying there not from ahlul-Sunnah. When the scholars say those statements, they’re truthful in their speech رحمهم الله وحفظهم الله. You can make the same argument for majority of the sects in Islam. الشاهد, those sects left the fold of ahlul-Sunnah wal jam’ah because of their innovations e.g. Asharis.

To understand the Names and Attributes of Allah is part of a Muslim's Tawheed, it has to be understood before understanding other acts of worship. It's not above our heads, it's how the companions of the prophet ﷺ understood it and the rest of the Salaf. There's no need for philosophical rhetoric to understand the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah, its already clarified, we only have to accept and follow the early understanding.

Shaykh Ali ibn Yahya Al-Hadādī حفظه الله wrote a short Risālah called “A gift to the Sunni, demolishing the creed of the Shia”. It’s no more than 115 pages. Come back to me once you read it (btw, there’s an English pdf online) and tell me how they’re “Muslims”! You’ll find out who’s the real “nutjob”. BarakAllahu Feek.

This guy isn't an Ash'ari and he doesn't have any teacher, to base his argument as your scale to weigh Ash'ari school is flawed. Ash'aris are indeed Ahl al-Sunna. We would love to see you folk consider Ash'ari imams, such as al-Suyuti, al-Haytami, al-'Asqalani, al-Nawawi, al-Ghazali, al-Juwayni, Ibn Furak, al-Subki, Ibn al-Subki, al-Baqillani, etc. out of Ahl al-Sunna. Further the fact that you think you won an argument with a pseudo-Ash'ari who claimed to be "Salafi," "Zaydi," and what not really shows your intellectual honestly.
