Attribution Error Bias

GYSBI’s commitment to the Human Performance Ethos includes educating and empowering our employees to make Safe Choices. In doing so, employees are constantly coached on overcoming biases in the workplace to reduce errors in decisions and judgments.
One such bias is the attribution error bias. In this video we see how this bias is affecting the team’s approach to the task as well as their level of present motivation. This can lead to unsafe behaviors and poor decision making. However, through coaching the supervisor is able to guide the team back to the correct approach and increase their level of present motivation so the task can be completed safely.
