Looks like a hell of a idea. Can the blade still trip with that on there though? If you have smooth concrete it may not be a problem, I think on my land not being able to trip would cause some issues though. Maybe some reconfiguring you could get it to work.

Yea , I was really in a rush on this one. I dont see any way the springs will work because the position of the winch. My guess the fix is not to mount the winch in that spot.

How did it work out?

thats not going to work vary good and will most likely break something when ya catch something with the plow that causes it to tip as the top of the blade will tip forward and pull the cables tite.

I cant say. Those cables have some give and the bottom rolls on its pivot point. Just getting it to move was cool for me. I'm not expecting much out of it.

@@kyleelmer4955 I think they are 3/8 but I'll be honest , they suck. I dont know where to get good ones. They worked but this whole design was more geared to see it work. I wasnt really thinking about how strong it would be. I was just trying to solve problems as I went along for it to work. If I ever get some time I think I would change the design completely.

How is this holding up? Looking into doing a beefier version on a truck plow, dose the winch cables slip at all?

I had to take it off for this first snow because it was heavy and icy. I was concerned that this design. Might not allow the springs to operate at all. Now i have been plowing for years and know that under normal circumstances springs dont activate but i wasnt taking any chances. The problem is in order for the springs to work the cables cant be positioned the way I did. At least it looks that way.
