Lila was an idiot for messing up her relationship with Cal and in the end not marrying him because she aligned herself with the people she knew her fiance was going to go up against in that oil drilling situation. She acted as if she was so unaware about his business and treated him like some kind of traitor or villain.

For many people, he is a villain. He’s big oil going against the Native American people trying to steal their land. Kudos to the writers for taking a stand on such an important issue almost 30 years ago. Lyla was completely in the right and I love seeing her lay into Cal. Good riddance buddy. Don’t let the door hit you in your rear in the way out.
