ITA~~~ Melanie Smith rocked Oakdale as Emily!!! She was stunning and an exceptionally effective actress. Her relationship with Marie Masters was so genuine and heck..... they looked like mother and daughter. Kelly never ever registered for me as a proper replacement for Melanie Smith. She was much more bland one dimensional and certainly not as sexy. Kelly M. would have worked better as a Connor Walsh replacement. Melanie S. was simply irreplaceable. 👍👍👍👍👍😊

A wonderful scene between Melanie Smith (Emily) and Marie Masters (Susan). I would love to see episodes from the late 1960s and early 1970's in which the Susan/Dan/Liz/Paul was center stage. It is fascinating how "bad" Emily rebelled against the tradition of the "good" Stewart women of always bowing down to societal pressures (such as her half-sister Betsy marrying Craig, rather than Steve at first, because she thought it was the right thing to do).
