Martha Byrne in her final episode. Many things contributed to this show being canceled. Letting Martha go was a crippling blow.

Seeing Martha Bryne leaving the show that year felt it wasn't the same without her

Totally agreed.... Martha and Jon were the show since 1985. 93 was a great year when Martha returned and same in 97 when Jon returned

Still can't believe they let Martha leave the show!! She is the only true Lily!

Hated that Byrne left- it never felt like Lily and Holden afterwards. They didn’t just bring in Noelle Beck but changed Holden’s personality too. They were no longer the couple I had loved for years. Even though they slowly tanked Lily’s character since Rose came into the show- I still loved these two. Not even a kiss in their final scene together after 23 years? Come on!!
