If you liked this, you *have* to go check out Au5's channel. He doesn't release all of his tracks through Monstercat, but his off-record songs are just as good if not better than the ones released here imo. He still consistently puts out some of the best songs sound-design-wise I've ever heard, and it's well-worth checking out his other stuff if you haven't already!

The semi-animated stills of the album art are good at doing what they're designed to do, but it's when the entire visuals change to flow with the song that really adds to both video and the music an extra level of memorability. UKF does this pretty well, and the particles in front of the black background kinda remind me of the star backgrounds Monstercat used to have. I'm glad this is a visualizer video, as opposed to a standalone music video, or even a lyric video with words added onto it. Abstract visuals like these just work really well when there's a consistent focal element, and the visualizer does that perfectly. Well done to whoever worked on this.

My god, I was not ready for this 2014 throwback. Honestly, Au5 has the best sound design and melodies of anyone in the EDM space, and his unstoppable streak of incredible music in 2020 continues with this melodic masterpiece - getting a slower Crossroads vibe from this one! All For Nothing - Koven was my favourite song of 2020 for a long time, but in 1 listen, this is already my favourite song of the year, and I'm all for it

I don't understand this whole "old Monstercat" discussion. I've been listening to MC since Coffins (although I went back and listened to the older stuff) and I for one am very happy with where we are right now. You have to realize that this label is growing and getting more attention every day. It's not a big deal if we get some more mainstream tracks alongside stuff like Goodbye. MC has become one of the most diverse labels around. We get 4 tracks every week (not counting EPs etc.) and they can go from Direct to Kuuro, from Tokyo Machine to SMLE. There's no limit here and there's no "Monstercat style" anymore, but most importantly with so much music releasing every week we have plenty of space to experiment. This is a place where everyone can find their favorite music. I might like some tracks more than others but I personally like the fact that this community is able to welcome so many different types of music for so many different people. Remember: adventure and discovery are some of the most recurring themes when it comes to Monstercat and some people are starting their adventure with us this year, just as we started back in the old days.
