My Stepdad has known me for a long time since I was 4. He never adopted me, however, he is still part of my life and he has raised me and has been a father to me more than my real dad. I never took is his last name and I am still in his family. I understand she wants to Cole to adopt her, but adoption or not Cole will love her and she is a part of his family no matter what.

Randy is the best dad on this show. It's easy to see why Chelsea is so close to him. He is incredibly easy to talk to. There is no judgement. He tells you his opinion but will also listen to your and doesn't TELL you what to do, just offers his side. So Chelsea knows that no matter what she can always go to him. I can definitely envision Aubree surprising Cole with a “Will you adopt me” present for Father’s Day, his birthday, or on Christmas - whenever she thinks the perfect occasion will be. I can totally envision Cole being over the moon and crying blissful tears of happiness ready and willing to make the adoption happen instantly with a magic wand. However, I can envision that happening when Aubree hits her junior high days. Maybe when she’s about 14 or so. But it should be organic and authentic. If it’s within Aubree’s desire to be adopted by Cole, she make it known when it’s time. However, she shouldn’t be pressured or influenced to make such a significant decision at such a young age, in my opinion. Let Aubree voice what SHE wants at HER own pace. This is her journey.

One of my best friends growing up did that with her step dad! Her real dad was never there and her parents got divorced when she was two, her mom got remarried to her stepdad when she was 4. We were sophomores in high school and she and her boyfriend broke up, he was her first serious relationship and she was devastated. Her mom was out of town on business for a few days so she was home with her step dad. Her step dad stayed up all night with her, listening to everything she had to say, holding her when she cried, and he let her stay home from school the next day and he took off work too. He surprised her with flowers and her favorite food for breakfast and dinner. My friend gave him adoption papers for Christmas that year.

I love the way Cole handles the situation with Aubrey and Adam, and him being the stepdad. He’s so supportive and loving, yet knows that he’s the stepdad and doesn’t overstep his boundaries and allows Aubrey the space to grow through these rough emotions. Unlike Maci and Tyler who oversteps his boundaries and inserts himself into places that he doesn’t belong, making Bentley even more torn and confused.

It bothers me when she says that Adams daughter Payslee is not her sister anymore that is not true just cause they both have a dead beat dad should not make them stop being sisters. Payslee is Aubree,s sister just as much as Watson and Layne are. If Aubree still wants Payslee her life she should with or without Adam. Aubree is such a good big sister to all her siblings. @Nyesha Harris only Adam can,t he gave up his rights. Chelsea and Taylor can still be friends and talk and let the girls see eachother they can meet up. Adam can not take her. If Adam got his crap together then maybe he can see her however if Taylor says no then it's no for Adam he cant go to court and make Taylor give him Payslee because that is what happens when you give up your rights. Same as adoption the birth parents can see the child. But it has to be on the parents rules. He just cant take care of Payseely and make father decisions. This is so bittersweet. It just shows how much we naturally love and gravitate toward our parents. When we love someone, we understand their shortcomings and don’t want to punish them for it. It's cliche to say but anyone can be a dad yet not a father. Whether Aubrey decides to be adopted at a later stage, Cole loves her regardless and guides and protects her like the father she deserves. She's just too young to understand. God bless her. She's a great kid.
