Personally I use the G-Launcher with Axl as despite lacking rapid fire, it is stronger than his normal attack.

That's the actual weakness if you use Axl. I remember reading a MegaMan X site holding a guide with the weaknesses of all bosses, and it mentioned that the G-Launcher was way to go here, but that you need to use a specific set of flying platforms to damage him. Surprisingly, the G-Launcher took down his life bar quite fast in the second form.

PRO TIP FOR EASY BATTLE (REQUIRES ZERO): 1st form, stand facing right on the raised block off of the ground on the left side of the stage and equip the V Hanger to use the Souenbu wind boomerang with the special weapon button for no weapon energy. This will even allow you to hit him when he goes into the background, usually appearing in the top right of the screen. The only time he appears on the left side of the stage behind you is a slow loading attack you can easily turn around and hit him to stop him. 2nd form, this fight was so frustrating with how needlessly big the stage is making it seem frustratingly inapproachable but there's the EASIEST solution to it! Just hold Zero's regular attack button to go into the defensive Gokumonken stance where you'll glow green and reflect/defend all projectiles. MAKE SURE YOU STAND IN THE SAME SPOT YOU APPEAR IN AS THIS WILL MAKE IT SO SIGMA NEVER HITS YOU WHEN HE DOES HIS PUNCH ATTACK. In fact, since this punch misses, you can actually hit him several times with the Z-saber while he's paused in his punching form (make sure though that you don't do the full combo with the forward slash attack if you have that chip powered up). This stance will reflect the green balls he shoots directly back at him and will negate the damage of the red balls (make sure you're facing forward or it won't work). The only attack you'll have to do anything with is his purple belt laser sweep, but use this opportunity to use the jump-based homing attack Hieijin, which will do a nice amount of damage. I'm really glad I figured out this strategy because this entire game was tedious, so it was a perfect send off to a shit game.

The Maverick Hunter X project was going to lead a whole remake of the saga, which included refining things that weren't well executed in terms of script/plot. The not so good sales in Japan led to killing those plans.

god, making 3D models stay completely still is sooo ugly, its sad how much the poor quality of this game just erupts more and more. also, funny how they didnt used that final cutscene of zeros "nightmare" in anything, even X8. maybe this game got so bad they didnt even bothered with it. or does this cutscene has something to do with the MMZ series?

It has to do with the Mega Man Zero series as in the first game X was supposed to go maverick. This is foreshadowed in X's X4 ending where he tells Zero that if he ever becomes a maverick Zero has to "take care of him" (basically retire/kill him). However this game came out after Zero 1 and on the same day as Zero 2 yet they still put that "tie-in" to the Zero series. Yet in Zero 1 it is a copy of X made by Ciel but Copy X was retiring anyone he deemed Maverick. It kind of boggles the brain why this is in X7 when we already now what happens because Zero 1 came out before

@@ashconvoy6618 Megaman X6 sigue teniendo mejor control que Megaman X7, al fin de cuentas la crítica a MMX6 va por lo apresurado en que se hizo y el trama poco desarrollado a sabiendas que MMX5 se diseñó desde el vamos como el fin de saga X. Además, su dificultad es tanto criticada como amada. MMX7 no solo tiene una trama burda, tambien agrega un personaje tan inutil como Axl y el diseño del juego está mal hecho. Afortunadamente esos errores ayudaron a pulir la formula y entregar un MMX8 decente.
