Believe me, this scene is best when one of the characters gets stuck in the Vava / Vile fight, so when Sigma says, "It's all over!" There is a dialogue with Sigma telling X / Z / Axl: "wallowing in despair and despair," the other character who got stuck with Vava comes in and takes you out of Sigma's hands, that's cool.

+Apples and Oranges It is all about the rhythm and keeping an attack pattern. Notice how he does not let up even when his attacks are doing no damage. He is doing it on purpose to make the computer follow a specific pattern (which works better in old X games admittedly) but in this case it allows him to be there at the point when he finally is vulnerable.

I thought that X8 ended in such a way that the series needed to continue, but this is a point that doesn't leave any major points undone (Like Classic 10). Though Classic 11 and X9 would be appreciated, the only loose end that I know of in the Megaman Multiverse is for the end of Legends 2 and the missing Legends 3. But if Bomber-Man can escape the pits of the dormant game franchises; than I haven't lost hope for Megaman just yet.

For that final battle phase you're on a timer, indicated by the screen going progressively darker. If you don't defeat Lumine quickly enough it is instant game over. You can only inflict damage after breaking Lumines three barriers. You can see that the barriers are broken if all four extra arms of Lumine point to the left. Then you have a short time window to get damage in before he reapplies his three barriers and the cycle restarts. You have time for roughly two or three of those barrier breaking/damage cycles, so you want something that deals high damage. The safest bet is to use the team attack once he is open for damage, other good options include Z sabre or Σ blade (Σ blade is especially useful because it breaks barriers quickly).

Richard Dong That's what I'm wondering. As far as I know, it's the same voice actor, but it's never explained why Sigma's voice is higher and scratchier now as opposed to his deep, low voice from before.

Are we sure it's the same VA? If it is, then the only reason I can think of is Maverick Hunter X is when Sigma had just gone Maverick, and so he wasn't nearly as insane as he became much later in the series, hence why he would probably sound different. Or something like this anyway.

It was two different actors. X8 came out first around the time Command Mission did, where they had moved from the X7 cast to our new beloved ones. The new dub company was Blue Water Studios and the role of Sigma in X8 went to Dave Pettitt, voice of Epsilon from Command Mission, and all the supporting Dragon Ball characters like Turtle and Popo. When it came time to dub Maverick Hunter X, it seems that they deemed Gerald Matthews to be a better fit for Sigma's less gruff and tumble design (Classic Sigma). Gerald had worked alongside Pettitt on Command Mission as well, voicing Wild Jango and Depth Dragoon, and his more regal voice was chosen as a better fit for Sigma's original unbroken and sleeker design. As of today, this group no longer voices our X series. Lucas Gilbertson (Best Zero voice ever X8 era) is now replaced by Johnny Yong Bosch (who is wonderful MvC3 era) and Mark Gatha (Best X voice ever X8 era) has officially retired from Voice Acting to move onto a medical field if I'm not mistaken. X is now voiced by Ted Stroka (MvCI era) who quite frankly does a rather poor job. Perhaps it is just weird to now have Dan Hibiki voicing X... Anywho, hope this helps!

lumine made a big deal about axl's operating specifications and that he couldnt possibly cause an incident like sigma but that lumine wanted such a thing despite all the collateral damage it entailed because of the planned obsolesence of old generation reploids. thus it is hypocritical to support lumine but not support craft in megaman zero 4 when he blows up all of neo arcadia as collateral damage to try to take out dr vile.
