It was clear before 2023 was half over that culture would HAVE to be the emphasis for 2024. Well, CHF clearly agreed. Culture is everything to him this year. It's equally obvious that Hugh Freeze believes the HS recruiting route is the way to establish and build that culture; as opposed to trying to do that through the portal. I happen to agree with him. There will always be a need for the portal to fill holes. But he's constructing that culture and bringing the players along with him to set the standard. Benchmarks are absolutely vital if you are to accurately measure yourself against the standard, and buy-in is critical. I'm expecting Auburn to step forward in 2024.

Freeze is genuinely a great interview because of his depth of thinking and expressing the nuts and bolts of coaching this generation. His commitment to leading men to successful lives beyond football is most attractive. Winning will take care of itself as parents will definitely get this vision for their sons.
