Great game by Auburn...LSU needed this 'reality check', because February 1st will be another knock out punch to the face for the LSU Tigers if they cant defend the perimeter and the low post. The Gamecocks made a HUGE statement against Kentucky.....Each game going forward will only get tighter as each team in the SEC is gearing up for the tournament.

Weaknesses LSU have that I’ve noticed -Carless turnovers -Out rebounded on both ends -lack of boxing out -countless transition points by Auburn, due to LSU jogging back on defense and Auburn constantly playing quick fast paced ball -Hvl getting cooked on defense especially in the pick and roll .multiple times it lead to a drive that forces the big to play help or a open mid range pull up. -The lack of ball movement LSU has consistently showed which allows for players not involved to get cold on the court -No REAL playmaker, or on this team. (I don’t consider POA a playmaker) -LSU still wins games off talent, they they are still trying to find there chemistry and when faced against a team with less talent but plays hard and with chemistry they got exposed.

Although it’s sad that they lost, let’s remember that every game is different. Some games they’re gonna be tired asf and not have as much energy, and then other games they’ll be going so hard that the opposing teams have no chances of beating them. Does LSU need to be better with their defense, and work much harder? Absolutely, have they had some plays that weren’t the best? Absolutely….however, this only their second loss. Some people thought that after Colorado, they’d just keep losing….yet in despite of this game, they’ve managed to win every single game. For the people who wanna say that LSU is trash, if that were true they would have a constant losing streak instead of only 2 losses, and they would barely make it into the 100’s for their final scores. For at least 3-4 of their games they’ve not only beat 100 points for their final scores but they beat their own past record, so clearly they’re not as trash as some of you might think. They obviously have to do way more in terms of defense but they’re not gonna let two losses take them down, and none of us can really say anything to take them down. If you’re gonna try and shade the girls, you better be able to put your sneakers on, walk onto that court, and pull up 4 easy 3’s without even warming up first.

With HVL as much as I hate to say it is a liability more often then not. Not to much of a playmaker and isn’t really involved in the offense besides pick and roll and dump offs to the bigs. From what I seen so far and in her time playing In Louisville. This LSU style just not a system made for her to thrive in. She’s more off ball catch and shoot or take off the dribble. But with lsu lack of ball movement often times she’s left just standing there . Also she’s to small to rebound , but DEFENSE is where you really see the flaws. She’s too slow to stay once front of quick defenders, and gets shifted easily. Multiple times this game a crossover proceeded by mid range was took by auburns pg as well as blow bys that left the bigs to cover for HVL. A part of me feels like her coming to LSU was a mistake, but hey no going back at this point
