Henderson Gill was one of my all time favourite players, built like a brick house and as quick as they come. Wigan Legend.

Gee I remember going to this game sitting in the railway stand on a frosty Auckland night but I was watching the great Andy Gregory and no wonder not many halves get one over him because he's very fierce competitor but paddy Tuimavave should of been the kiwi fullback and most of this Aucland team too ...paddy what a fine footballer.

When Auckland was full of guys who worked for a living!!Even the Aussies used to have trouble with us.The Warriors could take a leaf out of these guys book, you played with pride and heart because YOU knew ya mates would trudge down to Carlaw to watch you,and god helo you if you didnt perform.I dont know what the deal was but the Warriors should have fought tooth and nail to make Carlaw their fortress, great memories as a kid being in that main stand pretty much being able to touch your heros as they ran out,saw the great Manakau team of the mid eighties win the New Zealand club comp then blow ST. HELENS off Carlaw.AWESOME MAN!

Hell of a team Auckland in those days they beat everyone including the kangaroos. Then the warriors turned up it all went useless.
