Walking tour of Auckland Zoo, a zoological garden in Auckland, New Zealand, situated next to Western Springs park not far from Auckland's central business district.
A popular destination for young couples and families with children - Auckland Zoo is one of Auckland's most popular destinations.
With only a small carpark it's best to go early to Auckland Zoo - however you'll have to pay for parking on top of the entry fee.
Auckland Zoo is currently home to over 1,400 individuals representing 135 species, and covers 16.35 hectares (40 acres). The zoo is organised into exhibition areas grouped by region of origin (partial list below):
Africa Safari Track - giraffes, zebras, ostriches, nyala, waterbuck, southern white rhinoceros, masked lovebirds, meerkats, leopard tortoises and flamingos
Australia Bush Track - red-neck wallabies and emus,
Elephant -Asian elephant, Burma. Burma is intended to be rehomed at another zoo overseas shortly and will only be at the zoo for a short time longer.
South East Asia Jungle Track - Siamangs and Bornean orangutans. Sumatran tigers and Asian small-clawed otters also feature
South America Rainforest Track - black-handed spider monkeys, golden lion tamarins and black-capped squirrel monkeys. Also American alligators, green iguanas, a group of cotton-top tamarins and emperor tamarins.
As of June 2022, the prices for day passes are Adult (15 years +) $24, Child (4 - 14 years) $13 & the hours are 9:30am-4:30pm.

I heard bday singing is there like a little bday area for families? Also can you take food in? Is there picnic tables?

Yeah you can definitely take food in and there are plenty of spots to sit down

Too much of everything surrounded and hidden by greenery and not enough open spaces, seems unnatural with too many board walks, most of these animals people want to see like the Lions, Giraffes, Elephants etc don't live in the Borneo Jungle. Still good but they've gone overboard with the jungle theme.

Yeah they've got tigers there now but I've never managed to spot one. Cool they've got a nice enclosure - but even one of the volunteers said she's been there for months and never seen one

i dont think their habitat is actually for ur enjoyment it sone of th best habitats ive seen given the best repsentation of what a real life enclosure would bve like.
