Re wearing a seat belt - a friend of mine who usually wore a seat belt was distracted and didn’t put it on. A few miles down the road a drunk driver ran her off the road into a utility pole. She was thrown from the car, hit her head on the pole and died instantly. If you care about your family and the contributions you make to and for them put your seatbelt on before you start the car - EVERY time!

Absolutely agree. A parishioner (teen girl) was thrown from her dad's truck and died, while her father was gravely injured and would have drowned face down in a mud puddle if his younger daughter hadn't lifted his face out. They'd been belted until 5 minutes earlier, when they changed drivers and left seatbelts off.

On another note: I really, really appreciate the way you emphasise that you are no charity but a horse breeder/trainer and that, even though you desperately wanted to buy that mare, you could only do so because you will be able to sell her, later on, and also the filly, as ressources are limited. But also insisted that you will see to finding her a good and hopefully permanent home. I think this shows beautifully that one does not need to be a hero or dedicating their lives to charity to make the world a better place, but that one man (or any person, of course) going about their everyday business with integrity can make all the difference. For Jewel and her foal, you sure did on that day.

For some reason I cannot start my own message so I'm having to just tap on somebody else's but I grew up on a farm and we calves out dairy cattle for the dairies and dairy cattle have such Rich milk it would give the calves scours and what we would do is we would give the Cavs Pepto-Bismol it would help with the diarrhea and we actually have other events in Texas using Pepto-Bismol now😊 that might be an option to try

That's not true. Foal diarrhea (scours) is often from a bacterial infection and can be cleared up with antibiotics. Sometimes it is from the mare's foal heat and will clear up when the mare's hormones settle down.

@24:00 Momma is enjoying her meal but her ears are 100% tuned and turned into her baby. @25:35 momma’s eyes are so intent and gentle. She seems so intelligent. I cannot imagine how mentally (and physically) exhausted those two are. Can you imagine being a brand new mom being sent to a place you don’t know, tied to a fence where you’re unable to look after your baby 😞 , How stressed the baby has been and is from the entire ordeal. I just cannot imagine. It’s not surprising that sweet baby is worn slap out. It speaks volumes that the momma and foal felt safe enough to rest and stop being on level 10 alert. @28:55 For the foal to fall asleep that contentedly. See the terrified foal and mom in that crazy loud atmosphere was difficult to bear. It made my day when you won the bidding and got them out of there and to your home where they can be properly raised and taken care of. Seeing the foal totally conked out and finally getting some much needed rest was heartwarming. The poor baby's been through so much lately she is finally getting the best sleep and rest at the best farm. All the things you did here show why….Leaving the auction right away to get that mommy and her baby out of that stressful situation; Becca and you so carefully and ignoring the mess, cleaning up that sweet baby; Emeri constantly soothing the mare in her gentle voice while filming; Isaac having the stall ready with fresh bedding when you arrived. Working together with all your thoughts and energies focused with selfless love on these two horses in need. Ok being they put them at risk w/ the re sale buyers at any auction was playing Russian roulette with them both so have no compassion at all towards the previous owners who gave no compassion towards them , the mare/ foal being subject to this possible recycling fate by their thoughtless & uncaring decisions. Bad enough for the mare yet with a foal???? Very fortunate situation it turned out to be for them both yet the bidding was up against a family & a re seller? Would have that family been out bidded with the re seller? Nope showed no care for their future welfare & if that family was a for real sure guarantee that meant they'd have a real good chance with them. Well being a family means nothing so by fate they both ended up here we all knowing that WHATEVER care is NEEDED they'll get in a stress 🆓 environment. And the foal KNEW so let me lay my tired 😴 foal self down for some DEEPLY snoring zzzzzz's on this clean fresh hay floor bedding. Nighty nights & sweet dreams my way. And Mom mare was ok with it too. She over there getting her deep sleep 💤😴 on as well. Need it for the milk production. And she'll be fed food to eat to support that in turn supports the foal. And her health too. She got that de wormer & electo something. 🐴🐎And the foal sleep 💤 s will do him good.. In due time they'll both know their safe & sound. Wonderful, super for them.

WELL DONE, FAM!!! I just heard myself take a breath now. I might even take another breath after that one. So, I guess that means that I can start regular breathing again. I swear I can FEEL EVERY STRESSFUL SECOND THESE TWO BEAUTIFUL, INNOCENT SOUL'S HAVE BEEN THROUGH!! But just look at the relief on mama mare's face now! Standing there, relaxed, breathing, too! While her baby is peacefully sleeping a deep relaxing, comfortable, safe sleep! I can literally see the stress melting away from mama's entire being! She knows that she & her beautiful daughter are finally safe now! Medical needs are being taken care of & they both can finally relax & breathe knowing that they are safe! Just look at mama's face! Congratulations! I am delighted you managed to save this mare and her foal. I am appalled that someone would even think of selling a mare with such a young foal at an auction. Traumatic event for so young a foal and the mare. I know that the mare is a daughter of your old stallion Image and was your principal reason for buying her, but all the same, your action is very praiseworthy. Hope all continues well.
