15 years since their last album! How long did you think it would take for them to release a new album?

You’ve got so many people talking negative about how it’s not the Black Crowes without the other guys. When you’re the vocalist who writes the lyrics and your brother is the guitarist who writes the songs with you it’s still the Black Crowes. I’d love to see Steve Gorman and Marc Ford playing with them again but they’re not. They own the music and it’s their band. They sound great and I’m personally thankful to still see Chris and Rich writing, recording, and performing together. Bottom line is you can have the Black Crowes with Chris and Rich and whoever they want. You couldn’t have the Black Crowes with Steve Gorman, Marc Ford and replace Chris and Rich.

But you get why though, right? I mean, Gorman was always something very special to the band from the beginning - but after reading his book, I can't ever imagine him rejoining. And Marc Ford was the guy that made me realize they weren't a novelty band. They can call it Black Crowes instead of the 'Robinson Brothers, but without Gorman and Ford, I'm not sure it will resonate with me. I mean, I love the album Lions but apart from that, without Ford, I find the other albums bland.

50% of the Black Crowes / Oasis tour doing their part. Still holding out hope for the other two 😂. It was such a good show seeing them two bands together.

I've been a huge BC fan since the first album & have seen them several times. One of the best live acts you could ever go & see, each show lasting almost 3 hours. Chris is an extraordinary vocalist & probably the best I have ever seen live. Amazing. HOWEVER ...all that being said, I lost LOADS of respect for him & Rich when they disrespected Steve Gorman (drummer) the way they did. As it is now, other than Chris & Rich, there is not an original member in this version of the band. As stated in a comment below, this is the Robinson Bros & Co. ...this is NOT the Black Crowes.

The Gorman faction chimes in. There's always this reply... Don't listen or go see the Crowes guy, nobody cares.

@@Jbones72i, strongly suspect, that the shit Steve wrote in his book about Chris wanting his share of the profit and Rich being a moron to Jimmy Page, is as bullshit as it gets. I know it could ve naivee on My part, but how can any guitarist who grew up dreaming about being related to Page and Zep s history in some way, blow it up, and Jimmy s back problem being a lie? And when it comes to Chris wanting everyone s share, for PHUCK s sake, Chris is many things, good and bad, but he genuinely doesnt strike me as a business shark, i love him but i can't picture him that smart in My mind. I don't think Chris blew the Crowes and then had a loving and joyful partnership on the CRB all wiped and clean as simple as that. May Steve s book is a great read as many said, but i don't trust him when he said his motivation to write it was to honour Eddie Harsh s memory as an unsung hero on the Crowes stint, wich he definetely was, we the fans know better. Maybe i'm wrong, but that doesnt take anything on the Crowes legend, Steve s great and missed grooving on this band, Rich s talent, and Chris s success out off the Crowes, CRB was a full fleshed jamming band talented to the teeth. Trigger Hippie may have Jackie Greene and Steve on it, but their music don't have it. Wich is frustrating, since Steve s a must listen kinda drummer and Jackie s solo career and tunes are really good. I see envy on this conflict, but i can't prove it to be a fact, though.

The biggest mystery is why nobody acknowledges how fantastic their last album Before the Frost was, including how it was recorded. To me it was a lot better than anything after the second album.

Look at the end of the day they started the band. Yes Gorman was there for most of the recordings and now he is not, shitty is as may be, shit happens, differences happen, especially when you are younger getting praise and money and drink and drugs are in the mix, but you move on. If you don't want to listen to their new work then don't but don't say they cant use the name, I mean cause that is silly right there since it's their band.

I don’t think that Gorman or Ford would ever come back again. This is not TBC, this is just the Robinson brothers. Of course they can call it what they want, since they own the name. ✌️

@@Jbones72 That’s not really the point. How many different musicians there have been in TBC since the ”reunion”? I don’t even know. Honestly. There have been at least 3 different drummers since Gorman. At least 3 different guitar players and so on. If you still wanna call it a band, that’s fine. ✌️
