She was such an Abby dancer from day 1 I would've been surprised if she never ended up at the ALDC. I remember the episode Kalani came to look at the ALDC though McKaylee was with her. Guess she didn't want to do it or didn't want to move

Shannon Moran but it was unfair for the other dancers abby blatantly favored kalani even though Abby’s ultimate dance competition was about inclusivity and doing all styles of dance . Kalani only didn’t lyrical , contemporary, ballet but couldn’t do hip hop ... and hard hitting moves on the show . She also lacked presence she only had good technique. Abby didn’t even want jojo on the show she even claimed how she was trying to get her kicked from day one . But now jojo is the only girl standing by her side .. also mckaylee was more of an abby dancer she had good technique and could do basically most styles of dance also she was given the hardest dances I think abby wanted her to fail so she gave her the most challenging dances .I don’t think she was better than kalani technically but she was great and very close to her level . Also kalani’s technique was way better than the elite competition team . She made the dancers look bad because her technique was way ahead of everyone joining aldc . Made her recede she still was an amazing dancer but when you compare her dancing in club dance . She was stronger especially knowing she was younger back then same with brynnn she receded after joining aldc. Her favoritism was always pointed out by the judges . And fun fact . Kalani also got the joffery ballet scholarship. Abby told the joffery ballet judge to look at kalani and how she’s the greatest kid . And years later Kira said that abby to this day says kalani should’ve won . It’s very selfish of her to think that way after mckaylee worked hard

I love how Abby said Trinity wasn’t fit for the competition because she does hip-hop too much and she doesn’t show a softer side, but first of all Trinity literally did a lyrical duet with Travis and aced it, literally Kehlani left the competition because she sucked at hip-hop, and any type of hard-core Dance Kehlani wasn’t able to bring it she was only able to do soft contemporary and lyrical dances. Abby literally body shame Trinity saying that she’s not a dancer because of her body type.

"Trinity didn't show any technique whatsoever" actually she did, it just wasn't ballet technique. One of my biggest pet peeves with the dance world overall, but especially Abby is ballet is valued over other styles. Hip hop technique is, in many ways, the exact opposite of ballet technique, but that doesn't make it any less valuable. Time after time on Dance Moms I've wished Abby would give her dancers more hip hop training and experience. She claims to want to train employable dancers, but allowing them to lack hip hop training is to their detriment. You don't have to love a genre of dance to respect it and acknowledge it's difficulty and value.

Every girl picked their strongest style, except Kalani. Why is Abby mad that Trinity didn't pick something to show her "softer side" when she excels more than anyone else at jazz funk and hip hop?? She 100% picked the right dance to showcase her strengths, and it baffles me Abby was okay with Gianna and McKaylee going with their strong styles, but she wasn't okay with Trinity. And the comments about Trinity's body were uncalled for. Bottom line is that rhinestone cowgirl was actually a trash dance, but it's not Kalani's fault--the choreographer just threw awkward moves in there. She should've gone with another solo, regardless of her winning over the judges with it the first time.
