Dufour had a double balance wheel watch back in the 90s. The idea is that the angular speeds of two balance wheels are averaged using a spur gear differential. If the two wheels are placed in such a way to have opposite positional variations it is, in principle, possible to correct the plus variation of on wheel averaging it with the minus variation of the other. In theory it is better than correcting it with a tourbillon or a carousel which introduce other perturbations, in practice I think any of these contraptions at the end runs just like any good mechanical watch. It is true however that they are very beautiful to look at... EDIT: All I wrote above is wrong for this watch. I was sure there was a spur differential between the wheels but I read there is none, only higher mass and the hairspring in opposite directions. It is still true that many others had done two wheels before...usually with a differential or using resonance to correct poise errors... Sorry for the chaos...

Wow just wow. Iv been watching the reviews just for fun and to learn. And the watch just blew me away the finishing on the braclet and case would be reson enough for me to fall in love with this peice and then they put a movement nerds movement in it too .my mum told me the internet is no good and full of smut and if i partook id go blind .well tim thanks a bunch. Plus, I’m bothered about the lack of graduations between 11 & 1 o’clock to make space for the branding in the 41mm versions. The double-balance is supposed to promote accuracy…but put 11 to 1 o’clock to guesswork?🤷🏽‍♂️

Why not? It is just the usual train but at the end two wheels and a differential, I don't see anything which should wear any more or less than a train and one wheel. Most of the wear of a movement with a Mudge escapement (now called Swiss, but it was invented in Britain) is due to the sliding of the wheel on the pallets, that just the same amount of wear in any of the wheels, even if you put five wheels and average in some weird way all their movements any of the wheels should receive the same kind of forces if would receive in a more ordinary movement. There might be the necessity for a higher torque because there are more parts to move, but I don't think AP did not take this into account. If I am wrong and someone has actually serviced this movement please correct me. EDIT: As written in another comment all I wrote is wrong in this case, this has simply two wheels, no differential or anything other mean to correct the error of one wheel with the other wheel. Even more so it should wear like any other good movement. Sorry for the confusion.
