You sound like a real fun person to be around. Not really sure if you're just so negative about these headphones, or just a negative person in general. Sorry that I even sat here and watched 7 minutes of life that I can't get back.

You're the first I've heard that doesn't think room head tracking, sound localization and room emulation isn't needed for gaming. On the contrary, I think this has been the missing piece for virtual surround sound. The fact that I can't turn my head in tiny increments just to localize where the sound is, like I do in real life, has been the biggest drawback of virtual surround. Also I don't think it's justified complaining about the price when the headphones are named "high-end" and that other planar headphones cost $1000. This is actually one of the cheapest ways not for sound geeks to get that sound stage and crisp sound, and represents an awesome opportunity for gamers. I think you might change your mind about these after you've done the full review :). I haven't gotten them yet, because I'm in the middle of upgrading to an i9- and SLI system, but I think I will eventually. Anyway - looking forward to the review! :)

I my first experiences with the head tracking in game have been less than impressive. Feels more like a gimmick. Not saying there is not value to it, but it seems to be very insignificant so far. Can you tell me what room emulation and sound localization should do for us in a game?

I'm looking forward to trying it for myself. I'll buy these just for the planar drivers, though :). Maybe it's something one can get used to? From what I understand, sound localization works in tandem with head tracking to create the effect of the sound source maintaining position as you move your head. Room emulation is more akin to sound stage, where the sound reproduced in the headset is supposed to allow you to accurately judge the distance to the source - this is something that can greatly vary between gaming headsets (and other headsets).

What Mobius is trying to achieve is the feeling that you listening to a 7.1 Speaker System. Room emulation gives you the choice in what kind of room you are placeing those Speakers. From a small room to a concert hall, both is possible. Headtracking is, as you said, to maintain the position of those Speakers even when turning your head. I personally dont think this is the way to go for gaming. For movies it is great, but in Games you have to ask in what do you want to immerse yourself into? Your Room with the 7.1 Speakers in it, or the fantastic World you are exploring as you play? Imagine you set the Room emulation to concert hall level, but in the Game you are exploring a small Cave. This creates a disconnect between Sound and what you see, wich is less than ideal. The most immersive Game sound i heard were Games with Dolby Atmos Sound format with Dolby Atmos for Headphones and a good Headphone. Mobius is great for Movies and good for Gaming, but i still prefer other VSS like SBX. Still, Mobius is really a good Headset and anyone looking for a Headset, should at least consider these, if they want quality. Thanks for reading, and sorry for my atrocious english ;-)

This is marketed as a "gaming headset." Why would I like to feel like my game was inside the room I am in? The marketed points on the box truly have little if nothing to do with gaming.

Feedback comment incoming: You MISSED a box. In an UNBOXING video. yOu HaD oNe JoB Lol also you didn't save the best for last, you went straight for the headset. Yes, a lot of people want a brief video, but that's still possible while including everything. For those of you who are wondering the 2nd thin box contains a fancy nylon carrying bag sporting the official Audeze logo. Great for protecting the headset during travel or keeping it dust free while not in use.
