Hi Rob, can you tell me where you got your handbrake cover from and did you remove the old one or does it just fit over the original. Cheers

I had to buy a whole handbrake off eBay.... But once I received it in the post I just pulled like crazy to yank off the leather effect cover....to swap them over. It was quite a tricky job because I then had to yank off to cover that was already existing on the one in the car. One of the many crazy things I've done to that car.

Luckily I found them on an eBay search. There's a set on there at the moment for £49 ( gloss black or gloss red for £112 but from Greece

Did you manage to fit the new vents perfectly? Does it fit like the originals?

Fit was perfect. I went from black to white....then changed white to satin steel. Mostly all the vents for sale on ebay are genuine Audi vents. ( new or second hand )

eBay was my go to place for Audi A1 parts. Used to spend hours searching for bits for my A1. 😅 Change the eBay setting to Germany too. Was always worth seeing different stuff to for sale over there. 😄

Have you ever been able to simply change the covers alone, without the air vent component inside?

Yeah it is doable, but what makes it hard is the plastic can be so brittle once off the surround. I tried it once and snapped it into pieces 🥴.....needs a gentle steady hand.

Hi..... here in the UK there are loads for sale on eBay. New and pre owned ones. Different colours. Also Germany has loads for sales to. I used to change my eBay search settings to Germany.... then try to find sellers who would post International 😀... worth a shot. 😀

Ebay search. But include searches internationally as you'll pick up quite a lot of items in the EU....Germany especially. But most from UK.

To remove the air vents you could do with getting hold of a hook tool. Hi friend, somehow i cant manage to put the initial air vent off... i feel like i'm gonna wreack it all.. any advice ?

Yep.... to get it off the car trim.....You need a hook type tool. Like a long thin screwdriver with a hook on the end..... Feed it through the vent and latch it on to the back of the vent...then a steady sharp pull... To pull it away from the dash board.
