Love the Q5! We have a 2017 Q7 Premium Plus with the 3.0T as well, we know how such a great engine it is but we wonder if you or anyone else has to “top it off” once every while. We’ll get the “Add a quart” message since we have the electronic dipstick, sometimes we think it’s a little off, because it doesn’t burn oil. Looked on the Audi forum and they did say it’s normal from Audi to consume a little oil and if you only top it off once few times then you should be good unless you’re topping it off frequently. Just was curious if it’s also other 3.0T owners doing that also!

Hi, Im glad you enjoy your car ! My 2015 Q5 with 113 000 km (71 000 miles) does not burn any oil for now. I used Liqui-Moly oil every 10 000 km. I have the electronic dipstick and I add a real one to be sure. They are both accurate in my vehicule but I know that the electronic dipstick can fail and cause problem. Depending on your mileage, It might also be a bad PCV valve that is causing your oil consumption issue. They are known to go bad and cause oil consumption issue. Audi says that a little bit of oil consumption is normal and it probably is but this is my 3rd car with a 3.0T engine and on normal use I have never add oil. I daily drive the Q5 and unlike what you see in this video I rarely do WOT and hard pull. Good luck !

@@3.0taudiq59 Gotcha, we use Castrol synthetic, we have about 92,000 miles on it right now, I’ll definitely look into the old fashioned dipstick, I have even read that S4 owners have this occur too! Thanks for your help, we still love this engine!

@@Justynt91 pretty sure all 3.0 TFSI Q5’s are ZF AUTO not DSG. I’m almost 1000% sure on this. The S4 has the DL501 DSG but not the Q5

Would probably sound similar. The transmission tune is stock so the shift sound should be similar. Unitronic tune is an old one without any burble or pops add to it, so they dont really play on the engine sound like 034 or IE.

You are right, it is a ZF8 speed torque converter automatic. It shift quick enough to sound like a DSG but with all the benefit of a torque converter transmission. Its a great unit, I love it.

ECS tuning or AWE website directly. I bought this on black friday since its the only moment in the year they offer 20% off. In Canada the best place is eurosport tuning. They gave me a great service.
