Audi Q5 epb module Repair

in this video i am diagnosing and repairing a Audi EPB (electronic Parking Brake) module, that is throwing a code about one of the wheels not working properly.

Thanks for this informative video. I’ve been plagued with epb issues for a few years now. Mainly the wiring hasn’t been robust enough for my climate but now I have a similar fault with just one wheel on my Passat. It’s not so easy to access as yours as it under the centre console. I’ll substitute the module with a used part I think and then take it from there. It’s a very confusing system to work on as the dtc don’t actually help much other than identifying the wheel. Great work.

Wow! This is maybe the only video I've found on the whole internet, which shows what's inside that mystery EPBM box. Thank you! Sir, Your video gives me a hope, that maybe I can repair my "EPB problem" which looks exactly the same, just different car (Ford Smax/Galaxy 2006-)

Excellent. I had the similar issue with my Volvo s80. I opened the epb module long time ago. Just don’t know where to start. I will check the mosfet. Thank you again

I have the same issue (Audi Q5, 3.0TDI) , the same control light... Since it appeared i am not able to use gearbox, due to that even not start the engine... i am gonna replace both MOSFETs today and let you know about my experience. Thank you very much!

I have changed, bought a used car and changed the strynen unit for the electric parking brake. I want to repair old . The same car has the same problems with the reversing sensor, which I want to repair

I checked 4 mosfets. Seems they are fine. Both relays also click. My error code are lost communication between pbm and bcm; pbm and cem; red park brake warning light flashes all the time. What parts on the circuit should I check? Resistance between signal wires is 61.8 ohms. Seems can bus wires are ok. Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you

In order to help you i would have to have a pbm in my hand now...but i dont , so i cant really tell you where to look regarding that dtc...i will as soon as i get a car with a similar issue i will try to dissect the entire board to help people in many other errors than the ones i get. Question: I must change the EPB module on a 2010 Audi A6 Avant and, considering the age of the vehicle, want to avoid paying the 900 euros that Audi are asking me to fit a new one. Buying a second-hand EPB module and fitting it is within my limited mechanical skills. I can also buy the plug. Together, these 2 items are rather inexpensive. But, where/how can I buy the module programming software and how much does it cost please? Thanks.

thanks for watching. you can buy the cable and software from many places on the internet Ross tech , Vagcom, Vag commander, abrites, etc all of the above will code this module to the car. Make sure you choose a version that is compatible with the cars age. good luck
