I really enjoy reading those comments. Every comment is about: "Audis are lazy, boring desing, dated, ugly" hahahahah. It is the best selling car in its class and will continue being that because people who have money and buy cars this class doesnt love experimenting. Interior is massive improvemet, exterior is also great for me. S-tronic + adaptive dampers or air suspension + virtual cockpit = the best car in the class=the best selling car in the class= audi q5. This is only real comment on this video at the moment.

I'm sure you can buy a protective case for the iPhone from Audi which comes with a small adapter that plugs into the mains/charger/heaphone socket of the phone. This allows your phone to wireless charge on the centre consul between the seats. On leaving the car, just unplug the small adapter and store it below the charging shelf between the seats till it is needed again.

The virtual cockpit may be advertised as a £250 option , but it has to be included with a technology package costing £1100. Very expensive option considering you have a screen on the dash showing the same map

The XC60 just looks much more expensive and unique than the Q5, the new Q5 design is horrible its just so boring and in my country tech options are really expensive like the virtual cockpit which without it the interior of the Q5 looks dated, the interior of the XC60 is hands down best in class and at least i will not have to pay extra for the tech options like the germans

q5 looks way better than the q7. but audi got a very high self esteem in pricing, similar to range rover. i think more ppl will go for the new volvo xc60, mercedes glc and finally the new x3 at the end of the year. but the 2.0 tdi well equipped costs 85.000€ in austria which is only 8.000 € less than a volvo t8 hybrid with 408hp and a class above Oo

What is with the Germans and their love of these freestanding display screens? They look like someone decided to glue a tablet on their dashboard. Wow, that's so impressive, I mean, why bother trying to have an integrated look in a premium vehicle when you could make it look like someone who couldn't afford to buy the upgraded system decided to put it on the dashboard themselves?!

Maestro_T in my opinion Screens integrated in the dash look seriously outdated , especially in german last gen cars ! Pure and clean dashes look very appealing to me

How does it look "clean and pure" when the lines of the dash are interrupted by a hideous tablet? If you got rid of the tablet, then I would agree. Look at 1:41. What I see is a dashboard that has all kinds of different lines and design and on top of it they decide to throw a rectangular tablet which doesn't fit in at all. As I said, it looks like some aftermarket crap where they couldn't find a decent place to put it, so they just put it there.

I fully agree. I dislike this trend of looking like an after market product has been clipped on to the dash as an afterthought. I much prefer the integrated look. Surely Audi, with their cockpit dashboard, could almost do away with an infotainment screen all together?

I also agree that these x3, q5 and glc are pointless cars having in mind that their 180-90hp 2 liter diesels are almost equally priced with the same engines in 5series, a6 and e class. In this class the VW Tiguan Highline is the best choice for me because it's cheaper than the rivals and with the Highline you have plenty of stuff that would cost you thousands of euro with BMW, Audi and Merc. Sure these crossovers are maybe the best cars for traffic and city driving because of the higher driving position but still smaller than their larger brothers so you want be scared all the time would I scratch the car and so on. If they were priced a little bit cheaper then I would start to love them 5-10% will be great. Don't need to forget that the bigger engines on these are great like 30d, 35d, m40i, sq5, glc 350d, glc 43 but again they are expensive and are 3th or 4th not 1st and only car to buy.

Always the same. You state there's plenty of room in the back. You're 5ft 10 and the front seat is in your driving position. Your driving position is so far forward. You sit right on the steering wheel. In my opinion, not representative of how the majority of us would position the front seat and so legroom in the back would be far less than you state. Same as all your reviews!

george mcray it clearly can't be that much of an issue for the masses because people keep buying these cars with that "plonked on the dashboard" UI. I personally like them because it keep the screen in your Field of vision without the additional dash hump that makes the dash feel claustrophobic and confining.

+craig doss Maybe they buy it because they have no alternative, in the same way that I'll probably be forced to buy a crossover/SUV at some point since there are practically no station wagons left on the market. It's one thing to complain about the field of vision being restricted, but look at 1:41. There is no effort at all to match it up with the lines of the dashboard. It looks, as I said earlier, like they just glued a tablet on there.

+K_Q_ J_H what are you, a Volvo salesman or smthng?? Volvo has had a renaissance under Geely, but you cant deny the prowess of BMW's engineering (and German engineering in general). That's why the new 5 Series has regained the crown in mid size exec class (beating the Merc E Class and Volvo S90). Admittedly not all BMWs are great....but the new X3 will, as always, be based on the 3 series; and as far as chassis competence and versatility goes, the 3 series chassis is, and has been for years the best in class ...wont be different for the next generation model
