This is an easy DIY job for a novice.
The MMI board is prone to failure mostly due to liquid spills. Problems range from LED backlight issues to being completely inoperative.

TIP: I found it hard pulling the trim from the middle part like he did, so I pulled from the front part which was way easier...

Question, my buttons and screen went out. I ordered the replacement board, the screen flickers does a light grey then goes off. Would you suggest replacing the screen? I have tested every fuse in the car and i also tested after a 7.5 amp blew furing a subwoofer install because a wired crossed. Fuses all replaced and tested every fuse in a box in the vehicle, I'm at the conclusion the logic board is the issue. Any suggestions you can give even if its another video you have, would really help a girl out! Thanks and great channel and video!🐻🤗

All other buttons work except for the control knob (when turned, the knob dosent register any change on screen, however all other buttons and also volume knob work absoulty fine)

installed with this board, everything worked until I slammed door shut all of a sudden volume control doesn't work, but it does still work to turn on off but no volume, any suggestions?

Where is your shop and can you come and do installation at someones home. My Q7 MMI radio and navigationsystem just shot down and how do I determine is the board., or something else module in the trunk. I just recently change one flat module in the trunk area., my mechanic told me it was the problem.

will that help the navigation knob work because thats whats messed up with my q7.

It depends if the knob is mechanically broken then no if it is not sensing movement than this will fix it as this board has the optical sensors are part of the board

if there is no radio or amp or anything connected to the MMI the display will not work. they are all connected to one another

I can't change the air suspension mode is it because of this because nothing moves or changes apart from volume.

Do the buttons and knobs work for adjusting the radio and changing stations ect? If the problem is only present when you are in the air suspension screen then likely the problem is something with the air suspension and not the MMI board .

The MMI board is responsible for registering that "select" function of the large knob. Defiantly sounds like you have a bad board.
