Just as always, great review! I have a 2008 B8 A4 with the same 3.0 TDI engine (240hp CAPA) and a 6 speed manual. Bought it a year ago after watching some of your videos. This engine pretty makes sports car from the smaller body, so much torque at low RPM, I love it! :D Just had the DMF-cluch changed and also the timing chains replaced preemptively (you can also change it from the back with the transmission removed) at 320k km. I hope my car also reaches 500k one day, I'm not planning on selling it any time soon. 🤞

@@samoniumuziejus With the diesels idk but the petrol variants failed frequently from chain wear as a result of failed or lazy tensioners. Perhaps because they rev higher? I don't know. I have a 3.2 V6 petrol and it's chains (my god there were 4 of them) were replaced at 290k km. Currently just shy of 320k on the clock, hoping to get another 5-10 years out of it. While at it the seals were replaced as well since the chains were an engine-out job the labour cost for the seals was pretty much pennies in comparison. So I went from losing/burning oil to having about the same oil level between my oil changes. It better perform for long to come after all I put into it. At first I wanted the same 3.0 TDI but with the laws here it would cost me like 250€ more on top of what I pay monthly right now just to own and look at the diesel variant, let alone drive it. Maybe back in the 2000s it would have made sense with the lower consumption, lower taxes and lower diesel price but today it's not worth it for me. I do keep hearing some kind of ticking noise in the front of the engine but I was told that it's because of the high pressure fuel pump making noise, which is considered normal. Don't know if this is also the case for the 3.0 TDI fuel pump.

About that timing chain rattle on cold start, mine buzzes all the time and, its not the chain, its actually one of the support arms that holds the exhaust pipe, i've seen this wen i replaced the high pressure steering pump tube. Around that area, where the high pressure line get is the steering column, where the exhaust pipe comes down from the engine and corners to the bottom of the chassis, there's an arm that holds part of the exhaust pipe that broke, every time i start the engine and is cold outside, the exhaust vibrates on that arm and creates a loud buzzing, it buzes even when the engine is hot but at a specific rpm. the respective arm is thick and i couldn't bend it so it doesn't touch the exhaust pipe i live with it for now. also i have that oil leak too. 2007 3.0 tdi

Im surprised too, maybe light already burnt out? LOL. My old 2011 q7 tdi have been in the dealer shop almost once a month and alreay replaced all injectors for unbalanced/contribution codes and yet the cel still comes back, thankfully it still has the emission extended warranty, im glad i got rid of that, fun to drive, sucks to own, high maintenance, expensive parts/repairs.
@flashmasstock3 жыл бұрын
my thoughts exactly...audi forums can confirm, but maybe if you get one of these with very high mileage, previous owner(s) already sorted out, so you should be good. I think the sweet sport is to get until 200k km- top max, and after 300to400k km
@bonjoeyt33 жыл бұрын
Sold mine with 212000kms. Had it since 182k. Replaced 6 injectors, 2 nox, adblue pump under emission warranty. 1 front lower control arm, battery is weak when cold, trans shutters when cold which is common post-fix according to forums. Not to mention those plastic clips on door rubber trims keeps breaking so i just sealed it with industrial strength glue lol

Sad to hear...so its like I said, you've had it where and when it demands parts, I had many cars that after 160-180k km started to fall apart, and after 200km came the money pit... I might go for a very high mileage car in the near future tho'

@@bonjoeyt3 definitely a bad Audi owner, bet you had lots of fun inside you wouldn’t notice some experience, bet you had fun with that car, perhaps save your life more than paying lots more money. Audis can last forever if you know what you are doing and know what you are looking for correct part especially it is a VAG part of Traton Group. Now never buy Audis if you never know how to drive an Audi, experiences with Audi extensive dealerships, dealing with folks or even having the budget, don’t buy these if you are not a professional mechanic. Thank you for trying Audi.
