Q7 has 7 seating + more cargo space/height so went with it vs Q8. The Q8 does look better and the tech is much better as well. They drive exactly the same. Get the adaptive air suspension with all wheel steering option either one you buy

The reason it’s called a q8 is because they can’t charge more for a q6 than a q7 because since the q7 is a higher number then q6 they figured hey let’s call it a q8 so we can charge more for a smaller car.

My suggestion is don't buy either one buy a Mercedes here's why I bought a 2017 Q7 The front windshield wipers don't work in the cold because the front defroster isn't strong enough to defrost the window So the windshield wipers stick as you drive and you have to keep pulling over because you can't see with all the ice that builds up on the window So all wheel drive or 0 to 60 in whatever doesn't matter if you can't see The lane assist thinks snow ruts in the road are the lines in the road and pulls you into oncoming traffic The GPS Works 50% of the time most of time driving you in circles when you really need it You can't turn off the air conditioning another design flaw The car always asks you to re-authenticate the cell phone you've had since you bought the car so you have to go through the setup process every time you enter to the car I bought the rear DVD players from Audi they're called RSEs rear seat entertainment package what a joke they advertise that they play DVDs from the onboard Audi DVD player but they don't cost me $3,000 Audi says DVDs are old technology can only live stream from Netflix another $3,000 out the window because of all these lies all these car reviews are done when the conditions are perfect so of course they look like great cars but once you buy the Audi I guarantee you you'll regret it I have a Mercedes E550 and the windshield wipers work perfectly along with everything else very easy to use different animal than the Audi

Q7 is a beautiful vehicle especially all blacked out - but I have to confess it looks like a station wagon. I even had a friend tell me she thought it looked like a mini van.....lol. Yikes. Many of these so called SUV if you ask me are really station wagons with all wheel drive. Not saying I hate it, but it just does not look like an SUV at all to me any more. This seems to be a trend for many brands. The Q8 is a stunner, but I don’t like the over use of touch screens for everything. Some controls are just better and easier to use while driving if they are manual switches. Trying to adjust climate control in the new Audi interior design language with almost everything on a touch screen is very distracting when driving. Yes it looks stunning when you get in the car and see all that bright and crisp screen real estate. But in my view it’s not the most practical. Also I liked the Audi screens that were not touch - much more intuitive and no slimy fingerprints to constantly clean....lol. And the MMI interface for non touch screen so easy to use when driving. I would choose the Q7 interior for that reason. Unfortunately all the luxury brands seem to be moving to all touch screen or over use of touch screens. They’re all doing it, it seems. But no denying the Q8 is a sexy vehicle and a worthy competitor for the similar high end models from BMW and Mercedes.

I think you are bang on depending on the stance and options of the truck.. when they first came out base models of every suv were hurst looking things! In today’s world, most seem to be short term image thinkers.. so it really doesn’t need to be completely “better” or “easier”.. it needs to be cool, tech heavy and modern. Who knows how it will perform in 10 years... but it’s the coolest thing on the market at the moment, so maybe before we know it... it will be the norm Thanks for your input, and for watching! @@ACCELER8TV well actually it's because when thy first came out, most of them were on "truck" frames/platforms. but it became more economic to build them on car platforms since no one takes these off-roading anyway. that's also why people used to call them "Trucks"

More importantly, money isn't an issue for me, and I'm enjoying my ride. Otherwise, I would have just bought something off the lot... All there's were in the high 60's to low 70's.

@skbuoy Nope, wouldn't be shocked at all... If I cared more about trade in value than luxury, I wouldn't have paid for all the upgrades in the first place. As it is, the trade in value is still over $60k, and I could get $70k selling private. By the time I'm ready to drop $150k on the RS Q8, I'll still get ~$50k for the Q7... So I'm good, but thanks for your concern lol.

@skbuoy Or rather, there are some people that appreciate the value they receive for what they spend enough to not consider it a loss. Value is a subjective matter. What would have been a loss for you, was a bargain for me... As I was prepared to pay nearly $10k-$15k more for a similarly spec'd competitor, that didn't ride as nice or feel as plush on the interior, before test driving the Q7. I've never traded in or sold any of my old vehicles. Except for one that I totaled, I've given all of them away when I bought something new. So trade in value definitely is not something I care about when buying a new car. Otherwise, I'd probably be driving something used, or a Honda or Toyota instead. The probable announcement of a performance tuned Q8 next year makes the Q7 the 1st vehicle I'm likely to own for less than 5-7 yrs... Which is the only reason I'm likely to trade it in. Sounds like you're probably more in the 'used' market, which is perfectly fine... Just a bit ironic considering you're browsing videos for yet to be released cars 🤔.
