I absolutely love my TT RS - inside and out. But asking that much for nothing but a body kit is pretty insulting.

30K extra on a TTRS taking the piss

The biggest issue with the TTRS is the crappy Haldex which sends power to the rear but cuts it all as soon as it detects the tyres slipping, unlike the new RS3 as an example. Even with all controlls deactivated it cuts power based on how much a tyre is spinning and steering angle. The engine is a masterpiece, the interior is one of the best, but the car dymanics are what let you down. It feels sporty but at the same time the electronics don’t like you using all of it’s capabilities. Also I’d like to add the car was released with alluminium brake discs which then were swapped with cast iron because the auminium couldn’t cope with the braking forces needed, specially if you think the rear brake is basically non-existant. I’ve owned mine for 5 years and it’s a great daily driver, it’s very practical, very effective on the road… but it could have been so so so much better.

@@knight2425 I haven’t but if you have passengers in the backseat, regardless of their size, they’ll get off the the car with a few head bruises 😂🙌🏻

@@P_M21 my brother has a TTRS and you need to mind your head for sure, the shape of the roof is not good in that department. That back seat is pointless, even with the front passenger seat all the way forward my son couldn’t sit in the back so not sure why they have seats to be honest. I ain’t knocking the car cause it’s bloody nice and a beast to drive, doesn’t fail to put a smile on your face when driving

The TT RS really just needs an LSD and proper alignment to fix most of its handling woes. I have no idea why this car and the 8V RS3 did not come with one from the factory. Haldex in of itself isn't a terrible system so long as you drive these vehicles like they're front-wheel-drive cars that happen to have some rear power assist. Trail brake it and send it early. It'll respond to your inputs if you approach it like that. If you approach it like an RWD-based AWD vehicle, you'll be woefully disappointed with its handling characteristics. The best thing about these cars is how easily you can make power in the aftermarket. To a point, however. The aforementioned Haldex system presents some complications when trying to send power to the rear and while there are some rather pervasive techniques to try and address that, it's an uphill battle. But on a rolling race, they can put down some brutal acceleration times that rival some (not all) of the fastest cars on the road.

If it is nigh-on impossible to get these limited edition cars, it is pretty d***** hard to get the “more available” standard cars. Audi don’t have the RS3 up on their web-site and “used” cars are speculative. Whatever the Pandemic did to the UK, little has made business sense.

Guys saying how ttrs needs lsd. That makes sense because my friend put an e85 kit on his. Was like 600hp and it just was super sketchy and bucked side to side when ripping it hitting 130. It was nuts

Interesting but I just don't understand the point of "specials" which really are not so different from the standard. Especially the massively inflated prices!

The reason for the special editions is because this is the last of the TTRS, RS3 and R8.

Wait...so they drive the R8 and the RS3 on the track, and not the TTRS. The comparison should be R8 vs. Rs3 🤷♂️

So its some stitching and bolt-ons for massive prices? When did performance editions of normal cars get so silly? I get the big power in a normal car idea - thats why everyone likes a hot hatch - but when its painted on rubber, rock hard suspension and real economy in the teens thats quite a lot of sacrifice for not a great deal more real world fun. Then there's the R8. It started out as a 4wd so they added power and removed the front drive. Great on a track and completely useless pretty much anywhere else. It seems car developers are just making boring, run of the mill stuff or track stuff with little in the way of real world usable, affordable and practical performance cars. At least its not another ev range test.

Don’t worry about the prices, the economy is collapsing and they will all be 60%+ deprecated in 2 years.

There really isn't any fun in owning any of these cars anymore the roads are full of idiots that can't drive and too much traffic in general Combine that with terrible road surfaces and speed cameras etc etc your better off buying a track day car and a racing sim for the house because none of these in stock form will cope with being driven hard around a track 😎

Why wouldn't we buy them?! Assuming they're all available manual and non hybrid - they're ten times better than every damn EV, hybrid, crossover, SUV and hatchback on the road and flooding your channel lately! Between this and the Dakar rally 911 video ye have up, i don't want to watch any of your other videos in the last few months! If a car isn't a manual petrol saloon, coupé or sports car i and many of us aren't interested in them and will never buy them!! Hopefully the damn EV, hybrid, crossover bubble bursts soon and we get more "normal" cars! I'm still rather annoyed that Mazda has been killing off the 6 with no fourth gen, not selling the car in the U.S. for about the last two years, the U.K. since January and here in Ireland since last week! (Yet they're still selling them in the likes of Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Australia, but if i won the lottery tomorrow, i can't get a new manual petrol RWD higher spec model!! 😯😡 . Indeed while we could always get petrol 6s here in Ireland, from around 2010, all higher specs were diesel only, until they thankfully got rid of diesel models at the end of 2018, selling the mid and top spec models with petrol engines again, but unfortunately the top spec is automatic only! So now there's whatever 2018-2023 mid spec 165hp models which are available in very limited numbers second hand, while of course second hand dealers rob you! But still, thankfully cars like this still exist and are available new! 😯😀🤘 .
