What a nice break in the day, watching that black beauty get pampered. My daily is a black '14 S4 with the RS grille so at times I felt you were detailing my car, LOL. Such great technique and attention to detail. Really helps a fellow detailer affirm what I'm doing and add some new skill sets to my repertoire. Plus that things is low maintenance; has an Avery Dennison full satin black wrap with two coats of CarPro Skin on it and fully coated wheels that were recently powder coated. Very nice video! I love your videos. Ich have a question: I use a high-pressure cleaner from Kärcher and the snow gun from Kärcher ( FJ 6 Foam gun) but the foam structure ist not nice.. i mix 500ml of water with 50ml of valet pro snow foam and the foam structure is still too watery.. I saw a video on KZbin that the foam gun from MJJC is good. What is your opinion about the foam gun and my water-foam-mix? I am from Germany and it would be nice if the foam gun you would recommend me is available in Germany. Thanks for your answer!
@RADGarage
@RADGarage 3 жыл бұрын
Oh boy, that's a bit of a tricky question. From what I understand about foam quality, a lot of the success is based on the condition of the water you are using. If you have "hard" water, it can make the foam runnier. I could be wrong on this also, but I am lucky to have really nice soft water coming into my garage. It could be the pressure or flow on your machine, and it could also be the cannon you are using. I wonder if it would make more sense if I connected you with another German detailer to see if he/she has better advice for you. If you are interested in that, I have a few in mind. Just drop me an email at radgarageyyc@gmail.com and I will connect you. I am going to be receiving a MJJC foam cannon soon and I will be giving it away after using it in a future video. I think they are reasonably priced, but I can't offer an opinion on their quality as I have yet to see/use one in person. 🙏

@@RADGarage In my opinion, the FK8 bodywork is slightly difficult to wash due to its creases & angles. Takes longer to wash etc. The Ceramic coating on the other hand does make a huge difference though. Wasn’t cheap either. But my MK1 Seat Leon 1.8T is easier & quicker due to its smoother lines etc.

My best advice is just to ensure the tires are being stored with no dressings on them. I always do a very thorough cleanse of my tires before storing them for the season and I have seen no evidence of cracking. It could also be the product you are using to dress your tires. Some tire dressings actually dry out the rubber by pulling the oils out to the surface to help them appear more glossy. Always use a high quality tire dressing from a reputable detailing brand. (ie. Another great job, Rick! Do you prefer the Ethos Graphene over other spray-type sealants and coatings?
@RADGarage
@RADGarage 3 жыл бұрын
Hard to rank them all. I think it really comes down to what kind of life the car is living. There's no sense in my mind to spend huge money on a coating on a car that is kept clean and rarely sees nasty weather. Once that coating is on there, it is now a commitment to maintain and you lose a few options as far as other products you might want to try. I guess you can "top" and "wax" your coatings, but if you have a clean summer driver, what's wrong with a nice spray sealant? Know what I mean?
@clintrockabar8100
@clintrockabar8100 3 жыл бұрын

what is the reason for the soft rinse? why not just use the pressure washer again? Just curious.
@RADGarage
@RADGarage 3 жыл бұрын
The way I look at it, any dirt the contact wash lifted off the paint is in the mitt or in the soap that sits on the car. At this point, a soft rinse is a faster way of just getting that soap off the car. In the foam pre-wash, I am trying to really force the soap into the narrow gaps and tight crevices so the pressure washer is necessary. I hope that makes sense.

@@RADGarage This robbers blow up cash-automates with explosives and then very fast drove away. For the police it is very difficult to know where these guys operate. So they need very fast cars to chase these guys and put them in prison.

Hi Rick! Another great video. Just a question, I guess I should have checked before I placed my order. But I ordered a Rupes Mark III (5”) from Carzilla. Do you receive credit if I reference you in the order process? Cause if so, the next time I order supplies, I’ll reference you. Take care. Till the next time,

The vast majority of the products carried at Carzilla quality for a "RAD GARAGE" 5% discount, but I don't know it they are able to offer that on the bigger stuff like the Rupes polishers. Did you make the order online or do you call it in?

@@RADGarage I ordered online my friend. I wondering if you get credit. You’re the inspiration . I always wanted a large throw DA, so I went for it. I have an old 6” Griots that has served me well, but I went for broke. I have a 3” Rupes. I got a raised eyebrow from the woman that puts up with me when she saw how much. 😂😂🤦‍♂️

@@waynefromnewfoundland8740 Happiness can’t be measured by dollars! I’d be curious to know if the code worked on that tool. If it does, I do get a reward. It’s usually converts to more detailing supplies in my garage!

@@RADGarage As I said earlier, I should have asked first. I just placed the ordered and some other supplies, like pads and apc. I will have to remember for the future. And please accept my apologies for not checking this option out first. I usually order from AutoObsessed, but they were out of stock. That’s when I remembered you order a lot of your supplies from Carzilla. I won’t forget when I order supplies again though.

@@waynefromnewfoundland8740 AO is great too. If you do order through Carzilla online, just input the code and it applies the discount to each qualifying item in your shopping cart. I appreciate you thinking of me. Most importantly, enjoy getting to know your new Rupes machine!

@RADGarage
@RADGarage 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. I am not good at reviews. The Ethos Ceramic soap is really nice to work with, but what is it doing at a scientific level to the car? I have no clue. All I know is, when it goes in the wash bucket and the mitt hits the car, it comes out super clean. I doubt that helped, did it? 🤔😉

My car is pretty hydrophobic at the moment, but pin pointing which product is creating that is so hard. I will say the new Gyeon G2M View glass sealant is AMAZING, and this is coming from a guy that has never really been impressed with glass coatings.

I have to admit, I don't really pay that close of attention to the price of products. I find everything here in Canada expensive. Except big TV's, they seem to be really cheap at the moment. Good luck with the products you listed above. Remember, the quality of the product depends on how happy you are with the results. If the car is clean, the products worked. It's that simple, but we tend to go a little overboard in this regard.

I recently heard a guy say, "Adam's gets the job done, but that's about it". I didn't quite know what to make of that statement. What more does a guy want than a product that does the job? It's such a sickly little niche industry.
