2015 S3 Glacier white. Almost 50k kms. Issues I had so far are - Driver's door handle was sticky in the winter. When you pull the handle it would take a couple of seconds to retract back and when it was really cold I would have to push it to close. Dealer greased it up and is fixed. - front windshield fan stopped occilating and didn't blow air. If the front windshield fogged up, would take almost 30 mins to clear. This was actually pretty dangerous when it snowed or rained. Dealer fixed it. - had a leak with coolant as the coolant levels would drop to minimum often. Had the pump replaced. - recently had some CELs on cylinder 1 and 4 misfiring and some other codes related to coolant sensors. Took it in right before my warranty expired. Turns out that the fuel rail pressure was dropping and the tech found fuel leaking into the cylinders from injectors. They replaced the injectors. When they inspected the intake valves they also found a lot of carbon buildup. So since they already had access to the valves, they cleaned up the carbon buildup. They actually charged me for the cleaning but was fairly cheap (150 Canadian). I really enjoy the car but hopefully I don't have too much issues as I'm now out of warranty. If I end up with more issues, I'll most likely just sell the car. The dealership I've been with has been awesome and been pretty honest. Hopefully I didn't get a lemon.

2017 S3 with 20k in UK. Driver's seat would squeak with any lateral movement (not great on a car which you can hoon round a corner) but easily sorted. Biggest issue is the gearbox dropping out under mild acceleration between 2nd and 3rd gears. Done it twice now and its an issue known by Audi. Waiting to be asked to bring it in when they have a solution. It catches the gear again btw, the car doesn't stop.

I’ve done about 23 000 miles on mine (2017 S3 sedan Australia). The only issue I had was the coolant kept dropping when I bought the car (due to air bubbles burping out). Wiper rubbers were making creaking sound in the beginning but now it’s fine. Other than that, no issues. By the way, I haven’t heard of any facelift S3s having sunroof rattle problem before. Only the pre facelift ones.

Hey mate, I'm from Australia and I've been following you since i got my s3, back in - September 2017 Audi S3 sedan (facelift model) . right now I have 25k KM on mine ( i guess 15k mile in US?). i've had few issues with mine so just want to share with you. 1. I've had electronic dsg failure, lucky this was cover under warranty (it would've cost me 8k AUD to fix) 2. sunroof was making squeeky noise every time i drove uphill, (Again covered under warranty but i've had to take my car in few times) the sunroof panel had a crack (2k AUD to fix). I've actually took my car in multiple times then they've pulled a part and told me there was a crack. 3. 3rd Break light was cracked (Took in multiple times after 200km drive) they try to charge me $600 AUD to fix which was 2sec fix. this was my bad for not checking the car properly when I've picked up. I guess i was too excited so i end up just gorilla taping the break light. i still can't believe they were going to charge 1 hour+ labour fee to just to replace the rear break light 4. Loud window wipers, I think it's a great daily car so I'm planning to keep for next few more years. My warranty ends next year September and i just hope i don't run into DSG issues again even after the Warranty. Quick question for you, my front left tyre is getting bold, what tyre do you suggest? did you have yours changed? Thanks for the video ! keep them coming brother.
@TheCenterLineAuto5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Did they say what caused the DSG failure? That’s definitely concerning because of the cost to fix it. Would hate to be out of warranty when that happens. Hi! Great work on the video👍🏼. I am driving an A3, 2,0tfsi, quattro and besides all issues you mentioned I registered squeeking noises when i press my right knee towards the central console. hey dude was wondering when you were going to release a video again..... loved the video... dope intro....👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 im a 2017 s3 owner , you might remember me asking your opinion once about tints... so i ended up going 20% all around except the windshield of course and I absolutely loved it....I drove about 7 months until recently I got pulled over... because i was an idiot by making a scene in the middle of an intersection... what i did was: i entered an intersection... i was smack in the middle of it and couldn’t complete crossing the intersection... the light turned yellow... so I started to backup to bring myself behind the line... and technically fixed my mistake... obviously the entire scene was witnessed by a cop on the opposite side.. so the bitch decided to nail me for my tints...i was super mega uber pissed, still am today... I got a warning, 48 hours to remove, called up my guy paid 30$.. removed then went to an inspection centre paid 60$... my mistake was that I argued and negotiated a warning vs a ticket... i believe with the ticket I wouldn’t need to go through the trouble of removing... anyhow next Saturday I booked the guy to tint the front again... was thinking 35% front and back and leave the back windshield 20% because apparently it can damage the heating elements when you remove and reinstall the tints... i dont know... i want your opinion.. obviously if i put the 20% on the front again it will be cheaper and more badass which i love... vs ripping the back 20% in order to put 35%...let me know what you think...( always leaving back windshield 20%) now ill tell you about my issues: im at 15k miles thus far... my right mirror’s heating stopped working, brought it in and they changed it entirely.... now my windshield fluid tank has a leak...im scheduled to go in...other thing was I had to top up my engine coolant 2 times...and top up engine oil once...I know why because I always drive on dynamic S mode and often M mode dropping gears... maxing out revs.. 😜... thats about it so far...I do definitely hear the crackling of the sunroof.. but dont really use it all that often.... but what really bothered me was that i overlooked the tire pressure monitoring system while i was ordering the car.. it was only a 300$ option...at the time i didn’t think too much of it...but now I do find myself checking the tire pressure manually every now and then...once i noticed i was driving for weeks on 20psi on back right rear tire...vs the default 44psi.. i was quite upset that audi didn’t provide it by default much like their other cars..anyways those are sort of my troubles so far...but the car is an absolutely joy to ride every time... I feel the need to accelerate corners every time I drive...its just something about the size of the car, the weight of the car...how the engine is placed in the middle of the front axel unlike the s5... the s3 is just so nimble to drive.. you feel like throwing it around every time..other drivers on the road most probably think im a horrible douchebag...but they dont get it 🤷🏻♂️ i compared it to an rs3... and the sound of the 5cylinder just makes me want to jizz..but other than that rs3 has nothing going for it... the front grill of the s3 is much nicer... the RS grills are not really my thing..neither the single oval exhaust tips.. i love the s3 quad exhausts.. and of course the tacky quattro sticker..which i get it....its the signature sign of the iconic 1980 quattro rally car.. oh and one more thing.. on the s3 when you introduce gas your turbo kicks in alot earlier than the rs3...on the rs3 you really need to press and go past 60% to 70% of gas to get it to move a bit...anyways dude... let me know your opinion about my tints.. oh and can you kindly explain that whole ceramic coating? thanks
@TheCenterLineAuto5 жыл бұрын
I have definitely heard that removing tint from the back windshield can damage the defrosting elements if not done properly. I had to have it taken off of my Evo IX back in the day when I got pulled over and the shop was able to remove it without damaging anything so I think it can be done. Most shops will make you sign a waiver though so its a complete gamble. Seems like the issues you have had have been fairly minor. I’ve had to add oil to mine as well, but only a few times. Ceramic coating is exactly what it sounds like. Just a coating of liquid ceramic that adds depth to the clear coat while also being extremely hydrophobic. Makes cleaning the car a lot easier as most things don’t stick to it. It does add some durability to the paint, but you still have to be careful when you wash it because it can still get swirl marks if you are not careful. Thanks for watching and being a subscriber!

Yeah I know it’s crazy that they have to replace the whole shift for that little piece right?

My S3 has had a cracked thermostat housing , startstop failure, cruise control failure, gearbox malfunction, heated driving seat failure, window washing reservoir leaking, armrest phone charger broke...... all in all my car has always had something wrong with it. It’s at the dealership getting a new Turbo fitted as I type. I have 3 months of warranty left and I’ve been given another 12 months on top for free because of the bad luck I’ve had. I wanted my money back but as I’ve done 37k miles they said no way. I’m going with Tesla next f@@k Audi🖕🏼.

Do these burn oil like crazy?

Lol yes. They definitely burn oil. Seems to be a very common issue with Audis

I know shes abit older but .... November 2014 . 64 plate UK S3 , 40,000 miles, full Audi service history standard as factory.......needs complete engine rebuild
@TheCenterLineAuto5 жыл бұрын
Complete rebuild after 40k miles? That seems like an early failure. Is it covered under warranty?

I have done 48k km with my 2017 S3. Sunroof rattles Parking sensors come up randomly Track list on iphone goes black Thats it. :)
@TheCenterLineAuto5 жыл бұрын
Have you tried getting any of them fixed under warranty? Trying to figure out if anyone has had any success getting the sunroof creaking taken care of.
@haviiithelegogunner9075 жыл бұрын
Yes. Twice. Not much improvement. It is worse if the sunroof is only half open.
@TheCenterLineAuto5 жыл бұрын
Ugh. That’s not encouraging. This might sound weird but I think it’s actually worse when I have a passenger in the car. I really noticed that the creaking was louder yesterday.

The roof is from webasto. Audi will change the roof if it is too bad. In Germany it has to be really really bad before they do it.

Sounds like there’s a lot of subjectivity into whether it gets replaced or not. I have heard that they have to take the whole sunroof assembly out so it sounds like it would be in the shop for awhile.

Just wait till electronic gremlins appear. My A4 Avant sunroof would open and close on it's own. Had a fuel pump go out twice. Fortunately, it was a lease and under warranty. I did not buy at the end of the lease. We use to have an Audi 5000S which my wife bought new in '84. Every switch had been replaced 3 or 4 times in 180K miles. Mechanically, nothing went wrong. But electronically. it was a money pit!

Hopefully, Audi has worked some things out since 1984. What year was your A4?
