I have a 4.2 fsi d4, 9 years old with 170.000miles on it.........still runing very eco. At 120km h its 7.5l/100 Most reliable car i have owned. Been a bmw man all my life, but this surprised the hell out of me. Bye bye bm from now on

Audi S8 2016 32000km. I was doing 120-130km/h with 4 people for a solid 2½ hours, consumption was 10l/100Km. I was amazed!

You probably will get better mpg on the highway if you turn the cruise control off. Not sure how the 4 cylinder mode works. With the cruise on, when you go over steep hills, the car brakes wasting energy you need to get back up the other side. When you drive, you would coast or you might even accelerate a bit downhill (more efficient) and then coast uphill with no throttle. I got my best efficiency in my A6 when I am mentally zoned out and just driving with no cruise control. I have the 3.0 CREC, so the supercharger would be disengaged during most of the highway run.

Superchargers are never disengaged, theyre constatly spinning...

@@DenisTheRealMenace No, I have a magnetic clutch. While the supercharger may not completely stop due to some mechanical friction, it doesn't provide effective boost. I don't know if you are thinking a positive displacement blower like "Mad Max", but the outside visibly spins, but the inside on the charger snout, is disengaged.

Tatsächlich passiert das ganz automatisch wenn du zum Beispiel im comfort modus gleichmäßig fährst. Wenn du den Bordcomputer auf Verbrauch stellst, dann kannst du den Wechsel erkennen. Spürbar während der Fahrt ist der Unterschied jedoch nicht.

Bad shift. 80km/h it was better on 6th gear, definitley not 8... its 1400rpm. Soo much lower. Its not a diesel... next time try lower gears 5/6/7 etc... higher rpm engine it not must be more fuel consumption. 2000-2500rpm its most efficient fuel on benzin cars, diesel 1500-2000rpm.

If you can afford one, the price of fuel probiisnt an issue. The issue as with all high performance vehicles is the RANGE of the fuel tank. Do you really want to keep stopping to refuel in your comfy long distance cruiser, or fast GT car - every 300km or so?

You can not be serious, if you report average consumption after 300 metres of driving... drive at least 30 kilometres. 300 metres uphill and headwind, might not be 6,9 litres.

Thats not precise testing.To test fuel consumption per 100km range,you must do exactly 100 km or more to be absolutely accurate.You drive 20km and said that was the consumption,but its not legit.The most reliable way to be honest is to fill your tank,drive 100 km and fill it again.The ammount that you fill is your most accurate fuel consumption. No offence,just a statement.

20km for 30mins drive can give pretty good idea what to expect Test in your own car and see if doing 20km for around 30mins will be much different doing 100km, it wont be unless you will do cold start driving, if engine is warm it will be pretty much same results Btw cant imagine doing 100km in city in one go But you can try

The car is new, the mpg is high. If they will be riden after 100.000 km and 5 years, engine has eat 20 litre minimum of 100 km.
