Those interior trim clips are an absolute nightmare. I've removed interior trim time and time again, and those clips are my nemesis! Your shim stopped the rubbing on my drivers door - mine didn't scratch the sill cover, but did take the paint off the top of the inner door frame that you pointed to. That NOS trim looks super nice - and good point about the old tape, never considered that!

I've got an issue which i think might be related. When i open my door and it stops at different positions on the hinge, the door rocks on the hinges, like it has slack or something. You had this before?

How can you get your shims? Both my doors have dropped to the point I have had to get replacement covers and will need to sort the bottom of the doors out due to rust
