I have three Fuji S3 bodies. The colour aesthetic and dynamic range makes for an exceptional camera. That it runs on AA batteries means it is future proof. It has the smoothest shutter release I have ever come across. A definite keeper.

I love using both of my S3 and S5 cameras,yes they are slow in some respects but the quality of the images is still pretty good with the wide dynamic range,and the film modes in jpeg make it even better :-)

Agreed the image output more than makes up for the slowness. Haha though I am a bit annoyed by the delete animation! I may have to have a look at the film modes. I don't tend to use out of camera jpegs but I may need to give it a shot!

One caution about buying Fujifilm is the lack of OEM battery, if that matters. Tried looking, but couldn't find the reason that Fujifilm uses a different battery on the S5. The size, shape, voltage, amp, are nominally identical to the Nikon and can even be charged with the Nikon charger.

There is a bit of a way around that though. If you can't find the third party s5 battery the D200 battery grip and AA batteries apparently work!

S5 Pro is actually worse, it has a very strong AA filter and renders it's images quite soft. I have both and S3 is a sharper sensor.

You should still be able to get CF cards on amazon or similar sites the batteries are just AA cells. Goodluck!
