Audio Example Of Severe CD-R Disc Rot

i'm honestly fascinated by this phenomenon. i have an old bootleg copy of 'virtual IX' by iron maiden i found in a cupboard in my sister's old room from 18 years ago. it suffered from disc rot aswell, but nowhere near to this degree! i guess layer seperation didn't affect it yet, but it does have several large oxidized spots and unplayable sectors.

Like this CD-R literally looked physically fine, there was no real indication that it was suffering from rot so I was very surprised when I transferred the audio. This phenomenon will genuinely never cease to amaze me, I always wonder how quickly it sets in over time.

The fact that the CD player even locked onto the disc is incredible to me and how I can ever so slightly hear the Melody
