If you need to delete a sound library, here are the instructions 🙂 Process could really do with improving imo. - In the Project Manager page, with the correct database open, right click the database in question, and select: "Open File Location/Reveal in Finder" - Open the folder called Resolve Projects - Look for the SoundLib.db file. - Rename that to SoundLib.db.old - Restart Resolve - Resolve will create a new SoundLib.db - Open the Sound Library and select the User Library Re-add your desired sounds (Folder)

The Sound library doesn't do sub folders. Power Bins seem better for that. Personally intergration with iTunes would be good for me. I store all my (licenced) music in that. Then it could pick up all the meta data.

Hey Alex, thanks for video. I've used your affiliate code and signed up for the yearly access to try out Audiio. A word of WARNING to your viewers!!! There's no obvious way to turn off the auto renewal payments on their website. This set off alarm bells. Sure enough, their are Trustpilot negative reviews from people that get hit with full $199 renewal cost. It seems you need to e-mail them at least 14 days before renewal, in order to stop it and some users have still run into issues. I've not even started to use the service, but that has left a bad taste already I'm afraid. Anyway thanks for the DR video tips!

Very helpful video! Also, congrats on the sponsorship with Audiio. Based on this video I went to their site and was impressed enough that I picked up the lifetime license. You asked for some feedback in your announcement video…I would love to see Audiio support a lifetime license for SFX as well. My lifetime purchase includes music but not SFX. Not a deal breaker for me, as I often Foley my own SFX. Still, it would be a nice addition. Congrats on the success of the channel! And well done on the sponsorship.

Hi Alex. I am just starting to learn basic editing with all your videos that I'm watching daily. You are a real help for me that knew absolutely nothing about editing. I'm helping my son start his very first KZbin channel and I will be the camera man / editor. As soon as we can put some footage together I will use everything that I have learned from you videos, and hopefully make some good content. Still have a lot to learn.

Thanks for explaining the last method in particular. I can see having a permanent database for sound effects or songs you use regularly (i.e. theme song perhaps). I subscribed to Audiio some time ago (using your discount code. thanks) and I generally use their excellent search/slash refine features to find what I want. I try not to use the same music twice if at all possible.

The sound library was a good idea that I kind of wish they iterated on more. They should really be live. There should be a way to add metadata and tags and hierarchical categories. As it is right now. For example: If you don't know that the woosh.wav file is actually named whoosh.wav... it's kind of impossible to find it. So I end up not using the sound library function at all and instead do it with the other methods. I have four monitors so I can have my sounds folder open in windows explorer and just drag and drop into Resolve as needed.

Happy New Year Alex and thank you for yet another great tutorial. Something I think would be a very useful for many of us would be a tutorial removing a drone shadow. I've seen a couple of videos removing the shadow of a drone hovering in a static position, but when the drone is moving and flying over things like grass or water, it seems much more difficult to achieve. Maybe some of the new clever stuff in Resolve could make this easier to do. Hopefully you can once again save us all from hours of head scratching. Thanks.

Thanks this was helpful. I put all my music and sound effects into a single DB/Library. Any ideas on how to remove/clean-up items in a DB/Library? Maybe because one don't have the license any longer or that I want to split out sound effects from music into a separate DB/Library. I'd asked back around the time of ResolveCon 2023 and no one had a solution at that time. I suppose I could create a brand new DB/Library with nothing in the Sound Library, import the DaVinci foley into the new DB and copy all of the projects from the source DB/library to this new library, and then create new DB/Libraries for Sound Effects, Licensed Music, etc. Kind of messy but it should work, no? One other thought, when doing software upgrades, BMD recommends backing up you DBs/Libraries. Folks need to remember that they need to also back up ALL of the newly created DBs/Libraries. Wonder how the automatic DB/Library conversion (process to convert DB/Library format when needed due to upgrade)works when you have multiple DBs in use?
@MrAlexTech Жыл бұрын
Hiya Paul! Yeah its not great to manage unfortunately, you can't edit the library however, you can delete/wipe the sound library from a Database. This is from the Blackmagic Foum: In the Project Manager page, with the Database area exposed Right click the database in question, and select. "Open File Location/Reveal in Finder" Open the Resolve Projects folder. Look for the SoundLib.db file. Rename that to SoundLib.db.old Restart Resolve - Resolve will create a new SoundLib.db Open the Sound Library and select the User Library Re-add your desired sounds (Folder)

@@MrAlexTech Thanks for the info from the forum. Didn't see that when I was looking there. Any ideas on who to wildcard (***) display more than 1000 entries or alternately show the next x number of entries? Looked for a solution on the BMD forum but no joy. The display at the top of the results shows 1000 of 1500 (or whatever number are in the library) entries. I have a bunch of music clips that I want to audition through and it's easier to do in Resolve than to try to play through in Windows folders.

Hi, thanks for this awesome video. Please clear my one doubt about audiio subscription. You said we can use the files we have downloaded from audiio in our later projects even after if we cancel the subscription? Which means potentially if we download all the files from their platform then we can still use those files with universal licence forever without new subscription? And we only need subscription again if wanna new files they are uploading? Please clear this doubt🙏🙏.

Watched a few videos about Resolve Studio today and decided to jump ship from Premier Pro, just to experience that I`m not able to purchase this directly from blackmagic in my country. I ordered and tried to pay about 300USD, but got the error sayin they are not allowed to sell in Norway. Seeing the resellers selling it here at a cost of another 100+USD for a digital product that can be downloaded... terrible behaviour from Blackmagic and I`ll stick with Premier when this is how they value their customers.

Quick question - is it possible to save downloaded content from maybe yourself or other providers and save them in a more organised file structure? As quite often it seems that some files need to be saved here, others saved there etc. and all gets confusing... Recently had to rebuild my PC and haven't reinstalled all various downloaded content yet. Keep up the great work by the way!

I use the sound library (local database option) but there is a major flaw that I can't find anyone picking up on or resolving. If you need to delete a track from your library you would image that you can go to your folder on you Mac where your music resides, delete it, rescan in Resolve and boom it's gone. Erm, well no. It does not refresh deleted tracks, it leaves a blank box in the library with no waveform. It's hugely annoying and we are now at 18.6 and it's still not resolved!

Just curious, if I sign up for the year for $59 thru your link, is it something that automatically renews each year at the full price if I don't cancel it? I'm curious to try but horrible at remembering that kind of stuff. If it's just for the 1 year I'd be interested. Edit - I made an account and tried to find an answer on the website and couldn't. I emailed them about it but it says to allow 2-3 days for a response. Hopefully the deal is still available when I hear back. If anyone happens to know if this is an automatically renewing subscription please feel free to let me know. Thanks.

Dear alex or anyone else who knows whats going on. I have an old intel based laptop with a gtx gpu from 2018. If i render with davinci resolve gpu and cpu are 100 percent like it should be. Now i build a pc 5800x cpu with my radeon rx 480 so overall my system is much faster than my laptop but if i render something gpu is at 2-20 percent most of the time around 10 and my cpu at 2 - 10 percent also , gpu accelration is activated , newest drivers, 32 gb ram. What is the problem? The render is painfully slow and the overall performance of my system is very bad. I know my gpu is not the best but 2-10 percent usage? It should ve at 100 percent like on my laptop . I dont use fusion i just colorgraded 4k footage and use filmconvert.
