@MaladaptiveDaydream Thinking abt it, I think you're the only person I've seen completely finish the script. I remember hearing Eastgates Audio take on the script around a year ago, though it isnt complete iirc. It's been a while, so I've forgotten the names of the other VA's scriptfills that I've heard. i think there was like 4 others? I gotta congratulate you for finishing it completely! I think you might be the only one who has completely finished the script as of right now.

It's lovely but the "supernatural lover does a little damage, then acts like a selfish asshole, and ghosts someone who loved them. Then pretends said lover is stupid and will just forget and uses it as an excuse to feel better about being a cataclysmic asshole." Bit is a a tad annoying. For once I want the lover to not come back and save the supernatural partner or some shit. But to stand up for themselves and tell their supernatural partner that that won't fly. If they really cared, they'd have talked this though like adults. That ghosting is not acceptable. A minor injury isn't worth burning bridges over. And forces them to realize their 'woe is me' bullshit has caused potentially irreparable damage. Then, if the relationship is fixeable at all, it forces the supernatural partner to treat the human partner like an actual person. Not some idiot with a goldfishes memory, who lacks object permanence and suddenly feels better because their partner isn't within viewing range. This trope treats normal people like infants. It strips the human of their humanity by having the supernatural partner treat them like an idiot whose feelings are irelevant. Wow... i don't normally go off. I guess this trope just really annoys me after encountering it so much.

I really enjoyed this, but i kept getting distracted from the whole romance drama aspect of things by how blatantly awful the council is. Seriously, they're evil! Even IF you assume that all the "everybody will forget you," "nobody ever breaks the curse," ect stuff is all a lie - something we never get any confirmation of - they're still deliberately causing a massive amount of stress and angst for essentially no reason! Lets assume that theyre not powerful enough to break the curse on their own, even though thats implied, and both parties genuinely do have to be willing to sacrifice whatever for eachother. Why the fuck does that need dragging out the idea that one of them is dead or something? Hell, that sounds more like something that needs to be carefully curated to each couple! Jesse thought that she could bargain with them by using herself as a fucking supernatural hitman! That didnt sound like paranoia! That sounded like the Council genuinely runs around murdering people and monsters and apparently erasing people from existence! For what?! To keep the supernatural a secret? Why?!

I'm a bit of a sucker for romance and only recently discovered/realized audio roleplays like this were a great source for them. I had expected the lack of a voice for the "listener" to remove any real sense of investment for me, but instead - at least on the better written scripts - it's felt like something of a challenge to cobble together an accurate picture of the unvoiced side from the plot and how the voice actor says their lines. Kind of like a puzzle in audio form.

@@DaJackCracker That's just how I felt about them too when I started listening to them! I enjoy figuring out what I'd do or say in certain situations. Unfortunately, that usually turns out to be a few too many "your mom" jokes.
