For anyone else doing this, the red wire goes to the right headphone, the green is the left, and the copper one is the ground. Great video! It works perfectly!

Hola, buen video. Pero con el conector cuadrado de Aliexpress no me es posible aún hacerlo entrar. Ya voy "destruyendo" varias partes plásticas internas y aún no cabe.

Worked great. Only thing that was really difficult was dealing with the knot I just pushed it to one side

Great video! this is what I need since its cable is too bad. I wonder could I put a balanced female conector instead? I think I could, please let me know, hugs

You would need a female 3.5mm Trrs connector and build a custom wire for it

What soldering iron did you use? Electrical?

Hey cool video... My ATH-AD1000x just broke, and i did continuity test and its just the wire ! phew ! But now im looking for a new cable to replace it with and its quiet unclear as to a solid or better cable to replace it with. Soldering is a past time, however I know how the driver is setup with the million little hairs attached inside soo I dont want to be heating that area more than once at most. Anyway I would really appreciate a recommendation !

there have been no issue since, the cables are replaceable now anyway

Great tutorial! Looks simple enough. Hopefully I can do that too! Im planning to diy my marshall major 2 since my wire broke. What 3.5mm female do you recommend for that? It s quite small compared to that AD. TIA!
@sgaudiohive
@sgaudiohive 5 жыл бұрын
Isn't the Marshall major already in detachable 3.5mm?
@Bums001
@Bums001 5 жыл бұрын
@@sgaudiohive Oops. I guess its the Major 1. Its not detachable. Bought it a few years ago and havent used it since the rubber of the cable torn off. Its still working but not very presentable anymore.

Thanks for the hifi diy. What's the best way to wire an inline mic ? Cheers!
@sgaudiohive
@sgaudiohive 5 жыл бұрын
Hi there, in line mic will be on the cable, best way is to wire it up to around 15cm below the connector to the headphone earcups

@@sgaudiohive thank you, maybe you will sell microphones someday? Is there a better way to have a mic that has less negative effect on audio/signal quality to the IEM?

any idea how to replace those paper filters? Those on my set seem to be ruined by moisture and sweat over the years and looks yellow and gross now lol. I dont want to remove them completely as it seems to lowers the already weak low end.

The best is to not remove or replace them unfortunately

What clay are you using to hold up the soldering iron. I have seen other videos and your method seems so simple with this clay. While others are trying to juggle. And what 3.5mm female did you use to make it detachable. I want to do this to mine.
@sgaudiohive

SE215 is already detachable. Clay is bluetack, have an introduction coming up from start to end how to start DIY audio
