I would love to see Video from you on how to achieve certain things. And I can't wait to watch the 4.6 Features Videos although I am not taking a lot of Photos at the moment and therefore don't use Darktable as much. Happy 2024

Hi Bruce, with 4.6 released, could you share which modules you use in most of the cases, as many new ones are introduces and some of the old ones have been improved. For example, we now have an improved Sigmoid and a new module RGB Primaries. Thanks in advance for your input.
@audio2u11 ай бұрын
Yeah, all of that will be covered in upcoming videos.

Mr Bruce, I’m experimenting with Darktable from some time. Thank You for Your tutorials - they help a lot. Today I noticed that when I adjusted my photo, and it looks like I want to it to look, but when I’m exporting that photo, to jpeg, the colors on jpeg are more saturated, has slightly different tone. Do U know what might cause that?? It’s very annoying because they look different, not like at darktable. Thank You for support and all the best for new Year.
@audio2u11 ай бұрын
Hmmm. I'm not in front of my darktable machien right now, but things that come to mind are: 1. Have you got softproofing turned on or off in darkroom view? 2. What colour space profile are you exporting to? sRGB? AdobeRGB? Something else? Ideally, you'd be exporting to sRGB for digital display.
@ZeeBee3711 ай бұрын
@@audio2uThanks, I got it. As You said “softproofing” in darkroom switched on. it hasn’t been switched on. But under that button there is also “profile options” (right click) and it has been to AdobeRGB. When I changed to sRGB and export as sRGB no color has been changed - finally. Probably it was related to my camera settings- profile color in which I was shooting was AdobeRGB. Again thanks for advises!!

Hi Bruce, New year Wishes to you... I want to switch from Linux mint to MxLinux for using Gimp, Dark table and Inkscape... As a user i need your suggestion....

About Software availability and working experience on MxLinux when compare to the Linux mint...

Bit too early to tell, really! I only installed MX a couple of days ago. Still getting to learn it!

if you are going to do a snapshot, why not create a duplicate at that point then you can go back?! Happy new year!
@audio2u Жыл бұрын
Yep, THAT is absolutely the best solution, particularly given that a duplicate is just a few kilobytes in the form of one extra .xmp file!

I have moved away from Darktable because it seems that it is trying to be 'too' scientific and it is getting too 'difficult' to keep up with. My preference will continue to be Lightroom (an older version) because it is much easier to get things done.

That's absolutely your right! No piece of software is ever "all things to all people".
