My pair will arrive in a few days. I turned in my Audéo L90’s for the Sphere 90. I’ll be the first to get them from my audiologist to try them out. I work in a high school and can’t hear when I’m in an area with TONS of noise. I’m sure you can imagine the noise in a HS cafeteria and why I wanted to try them. I’m looking forward to seeing if they will make a difference.

I’m seeing that the sphere mode is battery draining. Phonak should engineer a battery pack so consumers can simply keep multiple batteries charged to get through a long day especially if they need that sphere mode for work.

@williamrieger9904 interesting idea. And yes, Sphere mode is draining. The default setting in the device only allows for 3 hours of "spheric sound" per day

@judy-ir5gd prices will vary from clinic to clinic. Factors include the services included/bundled with the device, the length of the warranty, and the technology level (the Sphere comes in both a 70 and 90 level technology). But very generally, you could probably expect anywhere from $5000-$8000 for a pair

Chunky in size, maybe 3 times larger than a Widex Moment. Behind the ear hearing aids compete for the space behind your ear with glasses and a cap. A larger device makes the hearing aid experience more challenging.

@Joe3545u True. It is a large hearing aid -- one of the largest out there. Many people, like me, have plenty of space behind their ear and it is fine, even with thick glasses. Other people have less space behind their ears, and the size of the device is something to take into consideration.

It’s still skinny at the top though. Most people wouldn’t feel a difference when wearing glasses with these vs smaller RICs

Since CROS users won’t have access to the Sphere, does the Infinio R handle background noise well?

@AllenBright-b2h the Infinio R is still very good in background noise even though it doesn't use the Sphere chip. It's still better than almost all other hearing aids in noisy situations. Thanks for the question!

How can I find out if the sphere would significantly reduce engine and road noise while driving a truck. Currently, I need to mute the aids using the mobile app.

@brucehemmerich9653 it's hard to know exactly how the hearing aids would perform in a specific situation without trying them. Maybe you could ask your audiologist if she or he has a "trial" or "demo" set to loan you. At our clinic, we're just starting the process of letting our patients try the devices, but the Sphere is certainly being touted as the best device for noisy environments.
