Do you repair these? I have one here in the UK which only gets a hiss on line in, and the airplay mode only drives the tweeters.

Hello I saw a video of you repairing a plate amp for a speaker. I was wondering if you would be able to repair my plate amp that is in my Focal Solo6 be speaker.

The joy of using DC, well, sort of, still a pain in the bum to get multiple voltages out of one supply, but that's what these SMPS devices do anyway... :P

Did you say that you measured 30+5 DC volts on the cable to the "motherboard"? The reason why I ask is that I have a broken PSU, I think, well the wifi, display, etc. is working but no sound (no matter the input) so I think that part of the PSU is broken and wanna try to replace it with an external PSU.

I think the power amp runs off of a single 30 V rail, but I might not remember correctly.

Pretty cool, I forgot about the DC in on switch mode P S

i would have used one of those 120VDC dc-dc boost converters, this way im more flexible at the input voltage range and what batteries i can use.

I considered something like that, but I didn't want to A) add more conversion steps B) deal with the EMC or C) have to wait until fall to have it arrive. ;)

I would have just run the 60-70V DC straight to "secondary" of the SMPS, bypassing the mains side of the converter completely.

That would have broken everything.

Alas, it's not very loveable. The new 3310 just feels like a generic cheap, laggy budget phone :(
