So I managed to disassemble the jack without a drill. Get a pin, hammer it into the hole with an opening, then get two pliers. Hold the metal housing with one and place the other around the very thin rim of the gold jack (not the 3.5mm bit!). Not too much pressure and it comes apart nicely :)

you can buy a replacement cable online for $10~ on ebay.. and then take the left ear cup apart and solder new cable in.. cost you $10 but less hassle .. alternately as I did when my connector broke after a fall.. you can desolder the stock cable get you a 3.5mm jack solder that to the driver and put the jack in the cable hole and have you a detachable cable.

Anyone know a fix if it’s a tinny sound coming from them kind of squeaky?

Hey Andrew! My Audio Technicas refuse to charge. I've had them only for a bit under a year and they just randomly stopped charging. Is there any fix for this, or reason why?

Charge? What the hell are you charging? These are wired, non-bluetooth headphones here.

similar issue here, it is my right driver. Although, mine works from time to time :/
@andybennettau7 жыл бұрын
+iAnthonyFx do you get a ohm reading if you put a multimeter over the driver terminals? If so, it's possibly the interconnecting wire between each driver (if you've already worked out it's not the main cord)
@CoTrI7 жыл бұрын
I have the same issue, both of my drivers work, but when I put the volume up, the right one stops working..

Andrew could you fix yours?

Where did you get the driver after all and how much was it?
@JesseAmisi6 жыл бұрын
do you know my problem, I've had mine for a while and one of the sides stopped working. It only works when a move the wires in a certain way.
@andybennettau6 жыл бұрын
Hey Jesse Music it sounds like the wire has possibly broken? If the drivers work ok, you can order a new cable from AudioTechnica (or eBay) and fit it. When I ordered a set of drivers for mine, I also grabbed a spare cable for the day it finally dies. The advantage of the X model (M50x ) is the ability to swap cables.
@betrthnu34134 жыл бұрын
@@andybennettau I have yours, right side doesn't work, it isn't the cable (and i've been through 2 of those in the past) our kid has the m50's (white) still working and he's had them longer, I think the m50's are better made i.e built to last.
@andybennettau4 жыл бұрын
betrthnu that’s a shame. Luckily AudioTechnica make a Bluetooth version of the M50 series, then you’ll never have to worry about the cable breaking

So its the jack that's the problem, when one side stops working??
@andybennettau7 жыл бұрын
+Mono G initially I thought the jack was the issue, instead it turned out to be one of the drivers. If you have access to a small screw driver & a multimeter, it's pretty easy to test which it is by testing from the driver end.
@monog8707 жыл бұрын
Andrew Bennett alright thanks I was debating whether to get a multimeter but hiw do i test the driver?
@andybennettau7 жыл бұрын
+Mono G about 7min into this video I unscrew the earcup, and put a multimeter on it to test it. While you can buy a cheap multimeter, you could probably just ask your friends/ family if they have one you could borrow.

@@andybennettau hi Andrew, can we fix the driver by our own? My left side stoped working today. Hopefully it's the driver issue and I can fix with with some guidance from you.

Ravi Kumar I’m not aware of how to fix a driver, but I was able to order one as a spare part from AudioTechnica a few years back.
