Thanks for the video. I've used Sound Forge since Sony owned it. I've had 14 pro over a year, for some reason I can't drag & drop anymore. One day is just didn't do it anymore, it just shows the little red circle with the line through it. It works fine when I use the "open" option though.

Very nice tutorial! I stay away from the isotope stuff because it always messes up my recording, like cutting out part of the audio not sure why. It did that when I had version 14 and same when I upgrade to version 15 this year.
@beckoning-chasm3 жыл бұрын
I've noticed in other audio editing programs that when you apply reverb, it sometimes overshoots the audio's length and cuts it off. The solution seems to be to add some silence at the end, so the effect has "room to grow" as it were. Not sure if that would apply to your situation but might be worth a look.
@danmagoo3 жыл бұрын
Very well done, thanks! Question, please: Is there a way to see a list of which effects have been applied (after applying one or more effects)? Or to change/edit that list of effects, short of un-doing and re-doing everything?

Where is the playback speed (scrub control) option in Sound Forge Audio Studio 12.6? I don't have the scroller ("Rate" ) at the bottom of the page and don't see it in any of the options or help notes. I re-installed the program - no change. (Windows 10 64bit etc.) Ideas? Thank you!

Very good explained ! If I understand this right, I can't record multitrack ? And mixing a few tracks and export to a stereo mix down is also not possible ? at this moment it is very hard to find a working DAW for my new MacBookAir M1. All the old software, the plugins etc. not possible to install. SoundForge runs fine, it is just new to me ex-Cubase-freak.
@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын
Yeah this isn’t a multitrack daw. If you’re a Cubase guy maybe you’re familiar with Steinberg’s Wavelab software. This is similar to that. It’s more about going into a file and edit at the waveform level. You can do a bit of mixing and things but not really musical more for podcasting or something like that. I’m sure software developers will have their software working on the M1 soon enough.

I haz a question, and the MagicX people whatever it's called make you jump through hoops to get answers so that's no help --- basically is "Audio Studio" a *replacement* of SoundForge? Is it an *augmetation* ? Is it a standalone independent program?? I use SoundForge now, very frequently, and I get a lot out of it, now it's offering me what it calls an "upgrade" but the upgrade has this different name, "Audio Studio 15". I can't tell if I'm going to *lose* what I have, *add to* what I have, *replace* what I have, or just load an additional program and will have both. Any ideas?

I'm searching for the same thing obsessively now for 4 days and I realize that SoundForge Audio Studio 14, which is the version that I have, is less powerful than Audacity which is free and open source. I was using it for my podcasts and thought I could use SoundForge... but at least this version of the software is way too LIGHT or underpowered for me. Disapointed.

Hi Zane, I'm having some difficulty eliminating room noise and breaths from my vocal tracks in Sound Forge Audio Studio14. I'm new to the program and don't know all the bells and whistles, but the ones I've tried, Noise Gate helps but audio restoration doesn't seem to help. And I can't find a Noise Reduction feature in this program!? I 'm using a Blue Yeti USB Mic to create voiceover tracks. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have Sony Sound Forge 7 and used it a lot back in the day. I lost it somewhere and just recently found it going through some old stuff. I’m used to it and like it for my uses but there is no support for saving files as AAC or M4A. Do you happen to know where I can get a plug-in or something to be able to use these file formats in SSF7 as I don’t want to pay for something that’s over my head in what I use it for and would prefer to not have to learn an entirely new prose of software.
@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын
Those would be audio codecs that you need. I'm not sure if Sound Forge 7 is like other software where you install the codec on your computer and it will work in sound forge automatically. But you can try to maybe look up that info and see if it's possible.
@EyesoreJr3 жыл бұрын
I’ve done some research and old posts mention installing QuickTime for this but QuickTime is not around anymore so I figured I’d ask someone who knows sound forge to see if there was something they know as I seem to have hit a brick wall considering how old the software is. Thought maybe there was a windows plug in or something kind of like the HEIC plug-ins for photos.

I'm currently using the 365 version of this, and quite frankly, I'm about to cancel the contract. I am looking for a way to save regions as individual files, as I'm using it to edit vinyl rips. I stopped using the Vinyl wizard because the end result is 16/44.1, and I want to keep my files at the 24/96 that they were recorded at. Not to mention that I also can't find any of the various functions in the ExpressFX Audio Restoration tool on their own, and the ExpressFX interface is not particularly user-friendly. I would have thought this would have been better suited for editing vinyl rips than it appears to be. There's got to be something I'm missing. Either that or I'm using it for something it's not really set up for...
@gioruo89954 жыл бұрын
I'm using Sound Forge Pro 12 so i'm not sure this feature is in Audio Studio or whatever you have. Anyway, there is a script tool to save region as files in Sound Forge. It's under Tools-> Scripting , from there you can choose a script that will do what you want.

How do I fix latency? I'm using my guitar through an amp which has a direct out, into a Behringer UMC202HD.
@AudioTechTV4 жыл бұрын
Make sure you’re using the Asio driver for your interface and go into your Asio control panel then lower the buffer size to as low as you can get it. Try recording and see if there are any weird pops or clicks. If not, that’s as low as you’ll get your latency. If there are pops and clicks increase the buffer size and try again.

How do you make numerous tracks?
@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын
Are you wondering about having numerous tracks for multi track recording? Or numerous single tracks that you can edit individually? This isn’t a multi track editing program but you can have multiple tracks open at the same time and then blend them together or copy and paste part from one to another.

@@AudioTechTV I'm transferring an audio tape onto me computer using this program. So I'm trying to separate each song as a separate track. Can that be done?
@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын
@@tjswiderski5724 Yes that can be done. Pause the tape after each song then in sound forge go up to file, click new or press ctrl+N on your keyboard and it will create a new track. You'll see tabs along the bottom for each track and each one can be edited individually if needed or saved individually, there is also a save all option.

@craigreeves54654 жыл бұрын
I guess "better" to Magix means more convoluted and harder to use with half the features missing from ten years ago. No more real-time playback with effects on the player and can't even open or save MP3 files. Audacity has more features than this! I remember back when Sound Forge was easy to use and simple. All Magix does is scam people. It's the worst audio company in history.
