Raging Fyah are a traditional reggae band from Kingston, Jamaica. Their soulful sound exists to provide upbeat energy and positive vibes to listeners around the globe. Lead singer Kumar Bent lends a voice to Raging Fyah’s dialectical lyrics; he speaks on themes of personal identity, the advancement of race relations and forward progress in their homeland. The band incorporates the use of multiple keyboards with classical tones fit for a tropical church service with elements of dub and expansive vocal harmonies. Their free-spirited approach to songwriting allows a vast range of influences to congeal into the final product of relaxing, patient roots reggae. I listen to a LOT of reggae (almost exclusively!). From roots, to dancehall, lover's rock, and dub, as well as the oldie-goldies which were around years before Desmond Dekker, or Bob Marley released their first album. I can honestly say that I've never heard a song quite like this...very unique mix of roots-rock, with sort of an alternative rock/pop influenced chorus. Great fusion, and fire, for sure!
