When the first Police force was established, arguably in Glasgow in 1800 - the Second City of The Empire - (see the Glasgow Police Act of 1800) 'cops' were recruited from the dross and scum of the city by the Tobacco Lords and were used as hired thugs to protect premises and persons from the poorer and more unsavoury elements of the city. Eventually, the cries of how they worked and acted as a gang became too much and order and focus was demanded. This led to the creation of STANDARDS regarding uniforms, no criminals being employed, 'proper' behaviour, training etc, etc ... but above all DISCIPLINE. So sad to see that all UK Police forces are descending again into the mire that is criminal and thuggish gang behaviour. This will not end well for the Police.

Just because they were slovenly in their uniform, speech and appearance, appeared to be work-shy and lazy in their approach to their job, used vague threats to abuse law, implied over-reach with their powers, attempted to escalate something from nothing and attempted to close down a legal activity does not mean that they will obviously falsely arrest, lie on their Police report and potentially stand in court and perjur themselves. I have said it before, there was time, not long ago, that Police officers worse a suit, shirt and tie. They also had to be clean shaven and have a sensible haircut. The UK has no law pertaining to the resistance of arrest. You can legally resist even if it's a lawful detainment as long as you don't assault the police officer during the process.

You can in a few states in the U.S. too in. Virginia, North and South Carolina, and New York I believe. However, it's probably still not wise. Even if you are actually in the right and the arrest is unlawful.. resisting that unlawful arrest is likely (definitely) just end up in you getting beaten or worse. These thugs will beat you to a pulp and you'll be lucky to walk away with your life.

No charges would be dropped because no charges would be filed in the first place in the event of resisting a detainment.

This is just embarrassing to witness. It is as if these officials have zero training in how to deal with people. IMagine you had been much worse, how bad would they have become? They were so out of their depth, utterly useless in communicating, and so desperate to escalate anything and everything. What happened to their humanity and compassion?
